"defconfig_list" is a weird option that defines a static symbol that declares the list of base config files in case the .config does not exist yet. This is quite different from other normal symbols; we just abused the "string" type and the "default" properties to list out the input files. They must be fixed values since these are searched for and loaded in the parse stage. It is an ugly hack, and should not exist in the first place. Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
