549d3c9a29 xfs: pass xfs_buf lookup flags to xfs_*read_agi
Allow callers to pass buffer lookup flags to xfs_read_agi and
xfs_ialloc_read_agi. This will be used in the next patch to fix a

7038c6e526 xfs: repair cannot update the summary counters when logging quota flags
While running xfs/804 (quota repairs racing with fsstress), I observed a
filesystem shutdown in the primary sb write verifier:

run fstests xfs/804 at 2022-05-23 18:43:48
XFS (sda4): Mounting V5 Filesystem
XFS (sda4): Ending clean mount
XFS (sda4): Quotacheck needed: Please wait.
XFS (sda4): Quotacheck: Done.
XFS (sda4): EXPERIMENTAL online scrub feature in use. Use at your own risk!
XFS (sda4): SB ifree sanity check failed 0xb5 > 0x80
XFS (sda4): Metadata corruption detected at xfs_sb_write_verify+0x5e/0x100 [xfs], xfs_sb block 0x0
XFS (sda4): Unmount and run xfs_repair

The "SB ifree sanity check failed" message was a debugging printk that I
added to the kernel; observe that 0xb5 - 0x80 = 53, which is less than
one inode chunk.

I traced this to the xfs_log_sb calls from the online quota repair code,
which tries to clear the CHKD flags from the superblock to force a
mount-time quotacheck if the repair fails. On a V5 filesystem,
xfs_log_sb updates the ondisk sb summary counters with the current
contents of the percpu counters. This is done without quiescing other
writer threads, which means it could be racing with a thread that has
updated icount and is about to update ifree.

If the other write thread had incremented ifree before updating icount,
the repair thread will write icount > ifree into the logged update. If
the AIL writes the logged superblock back to disk before anyone else
fixes this siutation, this will lead to a write verifier failure, which
causes a filesystem shutdown.

Resolve this problem by updating the quota flags and calling
xfs_sb_to_disk directly, which does not touch the percpu counters.
While we're at it, we can elide the entire update if the selected qflags
aren't set.

259ba1d36f xfs: try to attach dquots to files before repairing them
Inode resource usage is tracked in the quota metadata. Repairing a file
might change the resources used by that file, which means that we need
to attach dquots to the file that we're examining before accessing
anything in the file protected by the ILOCK.

However, there's a twist: a dquot cache miss requires the dquot to be
read in from the quota file, during which we drop the ILOCK on the file
being examined. This means that we *must* try to attach the dquots
before taking the ILOCK.

Therefore, dquots must be attached to files in the scrub setup function.
If doing so yields corruption errors (or unknown dquot errors), we
instead clear the quotachecked status, which will cause a quotacheck on
next mount. A future series will make this trigger live quotacheck.

While we're here, change the xrep_ino_dqattach function to use the
unlocked dqattach functions so that we avoid cycling the ILOCK if the
inode already has dquots attached. This makes the naming and locking
requirements consistent with the rest of the filesystem.

e06ef14b9f xfs: move the post-repair block reaping code to a separate file
Reaping blocks after a repair is a complicated affair involving a lot of
rmap btree lookups and figuring out if we're going to unmap or free old
metadata blocks that might be crosslinked. Eventually, we will need to
be able to reap per-AG metadata blocks, bmbt blocks from inode forks,
garbage CoW staging extents, and (even later) blocks from btrees rooted
in inodes. This results in a lot of reaping code, so we might as well
split that off while it's easy.

88accf1722 xfs: scrub should use ECHRNG to signal that the drain is needed
In the previous patch, we added jump labels to the intent drain code so
that regular filesystem operations need not pay the price of checking
for someone (scrub) waiting on intents to drain from some part of the
filesystem when that someone isn't running.

However, I observed that xfs/285 now spends a lot more time pushing the
AIL from the inode btree scrubber than it used to. This is because the
inobt scrubber will try push the AIL to try to get logged inode cores
written to the filesystem when it sees a weird discrepancy between the
ondisk inode and the inobt records. This AIL push is triggered when the
setup function sees TRY_HARDER is set; and the requisite EDEADLOCK
return is initiated when the discrepancy is seen.

The solution to this performance slow down is to use a different result
code (ECHRNG) for scrub code to signal that it needs to wait for
deferred intent work items to drain out of some part of the filesystem.
When this happens, set a new scrub state flag (XCHK_NEED_DRAIN) so that
setup functions will activate the jump label.

93b0c58ed0 xfs: don't return -EFSCORRUPTED from repair when resources cannot be grabbed
If we tried to repair something but the repair failed with -EDEADLOCK,
that means that the repair function couldn't grab some resource it
needed and wants us to try again. If we try again (with TRY_HARDER) but
still can't get all the resources we need, the repair fails and errors
remain on the filesystem.

Right now, repair returns the -EDEADLOCK to the caller as -EFSCORRUPTED,
which results in XFS_SCRUB_OFLAG_CORRUPT being passed out to userspace.
This is not correct because repair has not determined that anything is
corrupt. If the repair had been invoked on an object that could be
optimized but wasn't corrupt (OFLAG_PREEN), the inability to grab
resources will be reported to userspace as corrupt metadata, and users
will be unnecessarily alarmed that their suboptimal metadata turned into
a corruption.

Fix this by returning zero so that the results of the actual scrub will
be copied back out to userspace.

3e59c0103e xfs: log the AGI/AGF buffers when rolling transactions during an AG repair
Currently, the only way to lock an allocation group is to hold the AGI
and AGF buffers. If a repair needs to roll the transaction while
repairing some AG metadata, it maintains that lock by holding the two
buffers across the transaction roll and joins them afterwards.

However, repair is not like other parts of XFS that employ the bhold -
roll - bjoin sequence because it's possible that the AGI or AGF buffers
are not actually dirty before the roll. This presents two problems --
First, we need to redirty those buffers to keep them moving along in the
log to avoid pinning the log tail. Second, a clean buffer log item can
detach from the buffer. If this happens, the buffer type state is
discarded along with the bli and must be reattached before the next time
the buffer is logged. If it is not, the logging code will complain and
log recovery will not work properly.

An earlier version of this patch tried to fix the second problem by
re-setting the buffer type in the bli after joining the buffer to the
new transaction, but that looked weird and didn't solve the first
problem. Instead, solve both problems by logging the buffer before
rolling the transaction.

This is basically hammering the pag->pag_buf_lock from lots of CPUs
doing trylocks at the same time. Most of the buffer trylock
operations ultimately fail after we've done the lookup, so we're
really hammering the buf hash lock whilst making no progress.

We can also see significant spinlock traffic on the same lock just
under normal operation when lots of tasks are accessing metadata
from the same AG, so let's avoid all this by creating a lookup fast
path which leverages the rhashtable's ability to do RCU protected
 lookups.

xfs: lockless buffer cache lookups

Current work to merge the XFS inode life cycle with the VFS inode
life cycle is finding some interesting issues. If we have a path
that hits buffer trylocks fairly hard (e.g. a non-blocking
background inode freeing function), we end up hitting massive
contention on the buffer cache hash locks:

- 92.71% 0.05% [kernel] [k] xfs_inodegc_worker
   - 92.67% xfs_inodegc_worker

                        - 85.55% xfs_buf_find
                           - 72.87% _raw_spin_lock
                              - do_raw_spin_lock
                                   71.86% __pv_queued_spin_lock_slowpath
                           - 8.74% xfs_buf_rele
                              - 7.88% _raw_spin_lock
                                 - 7.88% do_raw_spin_lock
                                      7.63% __pv_queued_spin_lock_slowpath
                           - 1.70% xfs_buf_trylock
                              - 1.68% down_trylock
                                 - 1.41% _raw_spin_lock_irqsave
                                    - 1.39% do_raw_spin_lock
                                         __pv_queued_spin_lock_slowpath
                           - 0.76% _raw_spin_unlock
                                0.75% do_raw_spin_unlock

This is basically hammering the pag->pag_buf_lock from lots of CPUs
doing trylocks at the same time. Most of the buffer trylock
operations ultimately fail after we've done the lookup, so we're
really hammering the buf hash lock whilst making no progress.

We can also see significant spinlock traffic on the same lock just
under normal operation when lots of tasks are accessing metadata
from the same AG, so let's avoid all this by creating a lookup fast
path which leverages the rhashtable's ability to do RCU protected
lookups.

2d6ca8321c xfs: Pre-calculate per-AG agino geometry
There is a lot of overhead in functions like xfs_verify_agino() that
repeatedly calculate the geometry limits of an AG. These can be
pre-calculated as they are static and the verification context has
a per-ag context it can quickly reference.

In the case of xfs_verify_agino(), we now always have a perag
context handy, so we can store the minimum and maximum agino values
in the AG in the perag. This means we don't have to calculate
it on every call and it can be inlined in callers if we move it
to xfs_ag.h.

xfs_verify_agino_or_null() gets the same perag treatment.

xfs_agino_range() is moved to xfs_ag.c as it's not really a type
function, and it's use is largely restricted as the first and last
aginos can be grabbed straight from the perag in most cases.

Note that we leave the original xfs_verify_agino in place in
xfs_types.c as a static function as other callers in that file do
not have per-ag contexts so still need to go the long way. It's been
renamed to xfs_verify_agno_agino() to indicate it takes both an agno
and an agino to differentiate it from new function.

08d3e84fee xfs: pass perag to xfs_alloc_read_agf()
xfs_alloc_read_agf() initialises the perag if it hasn't been done
yet, so it makes sense to pass it the perag rather than pull a
reference from the buffer. This allows callers to be per-ag centric
rather than passing mount/agno pairs everywhere.

Whilst modifying the xfs_reflink_find_shared() function definition,
declare it static and remove the extern declaration as it is an

59d7fab2df xfs: fix quotaoff mutex usage now that we don't support disabling it
Prior to commit 40b52225e58c ("xfs: remove support for disabling quota
accounting on a mounted file system"), we used the quotaoff mutex to
protect dquot operations against quotaoff trying to pull down dquots as
part of disabling quota.

Now that we only support turning off quota enforcement, the quotaoff
mutex only protects changes in m_qflags/sb_qflags. We don't need it to
protect dquots, which means we can remove it from setqlimits and the
dquot scrub code. While we're at it, fix the function that forces
quotacheck, since it should have been taking the quotaoff mutex.

38c26bfd90 xfs: replace xfs_sb_version checks with feature flag checks
Convert the xfs_sb_version_hasfoo() to checks against
mp->m_features. Checks of the superblock itself during disk
operations (e.g. in the read/write verifiers and the to/from disk
formatters) are not converted - they operate purely on the
superblock state. Everything else should use the mount features.

Large parts of this conversion were done with sed with commands like
this:

for f in `git grep -l xfs_sb_version_has fs/xfs/*.c`; do
	sed -i -e 's/xfs_sb_version_has\(.*\)(&\(.*\)->m_sb)/xfs_has_\1(\2)/' $f
done

With manual cleanups for things like "xfs_has_extflgbit" and other
little inconsistencies in naming.

The result is ia lot less typing to check features and an XFS binary
size reduced by a bit over 3kB:

Pull xfs updates from Darrick Wong:
"Most of the work this cycle has been on refactoring various parts of
the codebase. The biggest non-cleanup changes are (1) reducing the
number of cache flushes sent when writing the log; (2) a substantial
number of log recovery fixes; and (3) I started accepting pull
requests from contributors if the commits in their branches match
what's been sent to the list.

For a week or so I /had/ staged a major cleanup of the logging code
from Dave Chinner, but it exposed so many lurking bugs in other parts
of the logging and log recovery code that I decided to defer that
patchset until we can address those latent bugs.

Larger cleanups this time include walking the incore inode cache (me)
and rework of the extended attribute code (Allison) to prepare it for
adding logged xattr updates (and directory tree parent pointers) in
  future releases.

  Summary:

   - Refactor the buffer cache to use bulk page allocation
