PCC Opregion added in ACPIC 6.3 requires special context data similar
to GPIO and Generic Serial Bus as it needs to know the internal PCC
buffer and its length as well as the PCC channel index when the opregion
handler is being executed by the OSPM.
Lets add support for the special context data needed by PCC Opregion.

The byte length of the Data field in the AEST Processor generic resource
substructure defined in ACPI for the Armv8 RAS Extensions 1.1 is 4Byte.
However, it is defined as a pointer type, and on a 64-bit machine,
it is interpreted as 8 bytes. Therefore, it is changed from a pointer
type unsigned integer 1 byte to an unsigned integer 4 bytes.

ACPICA commit 52abebd410945ec55afb4dd8b7150e8a39b5c960
This macro was only ever used when stuffing pointers into physical
addresses and trying to later reconstruct the pointer, which is
implementation-defined as to whether that can be done. Now that all such
operations are gone, the macro is unused, and should be removed to avoid
such practices being reintroduced.

ACPICA commit dfa3feffa8f760b686207d09dc880cd2f26c72af
Currently the pointer to the table is cast to acpi_physical_address and
later cast back to a pointer to be dereferenced. Whether or not this is
supported is implementation-defined.
On CHERI, and thus Arm's experimental Morello prototype architecture,
pointers are represented as capabilities, which are unforgeable bounded
pointers, providing always-on fine-grained spatial memory safety. This
means that any pointer cast to a plain integer will lose all its
associated metadata, and when cast back to a pointer it will give a
null-derived pointer (one that has the same metadata as null but an
address equal to the integer) that will trap on any dereference. As a
result, this is an implementation where acpi_physical_address cannot be
used as a hack to store real pointers.
Thus, alter the lifecycle of table descriptors. Internal physical tables
keep the current behaviour where only the address is set on install, and
the pointer is set on acquire. Virtual tables (internal and external)
now store the pointer on initialisation and use that on acquire (which
will redundantly set *table_ptr to itself, but changing that is both
unnecessary and overly complicated as acpi_tb_acquire_table is called with
both a pointer to a variable and a pointer to Table->Pointer itself).
This requires propagating the (possible) table pointer everywhere in
order to make sure pointers make it through to acpi_tb_acquire_temp_table,
which requires a change to the acpi_install_table interface. Instead of
taking an ACPI_PHYSADDR_TYPE and a boolean indicating whether it's
physical or virtual, it is now split into acpi_install_table (that takes
an external virtual table pointer) and acpi_install_physical_table (that
takes an ACPI_PHYSADDR_TYPE for an internal physical table address).
This also has the benefit of providing a cleaner API.

ACPICA commit d9eb82bd7515989f0b29d79deeeb758db4d6529c
Currently the pointer to the table is cast to acpi_physical_address and
later cast back to a pointer to be dereferenced. Whether or not this is
supported is implementation-defined.
On CHERI, and thus Arm's experimental Morello prototype architecture,
pointers are represented as capabilities, which are unforgeable bounded

means that any pointer cast to a plain integer will lose all its

address equal to the integer) that will trap on any dereference. As a
result, this is an implementation where acpi_physical_address cannot be
used as a hack to store real pointers.
Thus, add a new field to struct acpi_object_region to store the pointer for
table regions, and propagate it to acpi_ex_data_table_space_handler via the
region context, to use a more portable implementation that supports
CHERI.

ACPICA commit bc02c76d518135531483dfc276ed28b7ee632ce1
The current ACPI_ACCESS_*_WIDTH defines do not provide a way to
test that size is small enough to not cause an overflow when
applied to a 32-bit integer.
Rather than adding more magic numbers, add ACPI_ACCESS_*_SHIFT,
ACPI_ACCESS_*_MAX, and ACPI_ACCESS_*_DEFAULT #defines and
redefine ACPI_ACCESS_*_WIDTH in terms of the new #defines.
This was inititally reported on Linux where a size of 102 in
ACPI_ACCESS_BIT_WIDTH caused an overflow error in the SPCR
initialization code.

The clk and regulator frameworks expect clk/regulator consumer-devices
to have info about the consumed clks/regulators described in the device's
fw_node.
To work around cases where this info is not present in the firmware tables,
which is often the case on x86/ACPI devices, both frameworks allow the
provider-driver to attach info about consumers to the clks/regulators
when registering these.
This causes problems with the probe ordering wrt drivers for consumers
of these clks/regulators. Since the lookups are only registered when the
provider-driver binds, trying to get these clks/regulators before then
results in a -ENOENT error for clks and a dummy regulator for regulators.
One case where we hit this issue is camera sensors such as e.g. the OV8865
sensor found on the Microsoft Surface Go. The sensor uses clks, regulators
and GPIOs provided by a TPS68470 PMIC which is described in an INT3472
ACPI device. There is special platform code handling this and setting
platform_data with the necessary consumer info on the MFD cells
instantiated for the PMIC under: drivers/platform/x86/intel/int3472.
For this to work properly the ov8865 driver must not bind to the I2C-client
for the OV8865 sensor until after the TPS68470 PMIC gpio, regulator and
clk MFD cells have all been fully setup.
The OV8865 on the Microsoft Surface Go is just one example, all X86
devices using the Intel IPU3 camera block found on recent Intel SoCs
have similar issues where there is an INT3472 HID ACPI-device, which
describes the clks and regulators, and the driver for this INT3472 device
must be fully initialized before the sensor driver (any sensor driver)
binds for things to work properly.
On these devices the ACPI nodes describing the sensors all have a _DEP
dependency on the matching INT3472 ACPI device (there is one per sensor).
This allows solving the probe-ordering problem by delaying the enumeration
(instantiation of the I2C-client in the ov8865 example) of ACPI-devices
which have a _DEP dependency on an INT3472 device.
The new acpi_dev_ready_for_enumeration() helper used for this is also
exported because for devices, which have the enumeration_by_parent flag
set, the parent-driver will do its own scan of child ACPI devices and
it will try to enumerate those during its probe(). Code doing this such
as e.g. the i2c-core-acpi.c code must call this new helper to ensure
that it too delays the enumeration until all the _DEP dependencies are
met on devices which have the new honor_deps flag set.

Currently, acpi_bus_get_status() calls acpi_device_always_present() to
allow platform quirks to override the _STA return to report that a
device is present (status = ACPI_STA_DEFAULT) independent of the _STA
return.
In some cases it might also be useful to have the opposite functionality
and have a platform quirk which marks a device as not present (status = 0)
to work around ACPI table bugs.
Change acpi_device_always_present() into a more generic
acpi_device_override_status() function to allow this.

Now that we have all the shared memory region information populated in
the pcc_mbox_chan, let us propagate the pointer to the same as the
return value to pcc_mbox_request channel.
This eliminates the need for the individual users of PCC mailbox to
parse the PCCT subspace entries and fetch the shmem information. This
also eliminates the need for PCC mailbox controller to set con_priv to
PCCT subspace entries. This is required as con_priv is private to the
controller driver to attach private data associated with the channel and
not meant to be used by the mailbox client/users.
Let us convert all the users of pcc_mbox_{request,free}_channel to use
new interface.

Currently PCC mailbox controller sets con_priv in each channel to hold
the pointer to pcct subspace entry it corresponds to. The mailbox user
will then fetch this pointer from the channel descriptor they get when
they request for the channel. Using that pointer they then parse the
pcct entry again to fetch all the information about shared memory region.
In order to remove individual users of PCC mailbox parsing the PCCT
subspace entries to fetch same information, let us consolidate the same
in pcc mailbox controller by parsing all the shared memory region
information into a structure that can also hold the mbox_chan pointer it
represent.
This can then be used as main PCC mailbox channel pointer that we can
return as part of pcc_mbox_request_channel instead of standard mailbox
channel pointer.

This reverts commit 437b38c511.
The memory semantics added in commit 437b38c511 causes SystemMemory
Operation region, whose address range is not described in the EFI memory
map to be mapped as NormalNC memory on arm64 platforms (through
acpi_os_map_memory() in acpi_ex_system_memory_space_handler()).
This triggers the following abort on an ARM64 Ampere eMAG machine,
because presumably the physical address range area backing the Opregion
does not support NormalNC memory attributes driven on the bus.

If the Opregion address range is not present in the EFI memory map there
is no way for us to determine the memory attributes to use to map it -
defaulting to NormalNC does not work (and it is not correct on a memory
region that may have read side-effects) and therefore commit
437b38c511 should be reverted, which means reverting back to the
original behavior whereby address ranges that are mapped using
acpi_os_map_memory() default to the safe devicenGnRnE attributes on
ARM64 if the mapped address range is not defined in the EFI memory map.

On some systems the nominal_perf value retrieved via CPPC is just
a constant and fetching it doesn't require accessing any registers,
so if it is the only CPPC capability that's needed, it is wasteful
to run cppc_get_perf_caps() in order to get just that value alone,
especially when this is done for CPUs other than the one running
the code.
For this reason, introduce cppc_get_nominal_perf() allowing
nominal_perf to be obtained individually, by generalizing the
existing cppc_get_desired_perf() (and renaming it) so it can be
used to retrieve any specific CPPC capability value.
While at it, clean up the cppc_get_desired_perf() kerneldoc comment
a bit.

The memory attributes attached to memory regions depend on architecture
specific mappings.
For some memory regions, the attributes specified by firmware (eg
uncached) are not sufficient to determine how a memory region should be
mapped by an OS (for instance a region that is define as uncached in
firmware can be mapped as Normal or Device memory on arm64) and
therefore the OS must be given control on how to map the region to match
the expected mapping behaviour (eg if a mapping is requested with memory
semantics, it must allow unaligned accesses).
Rework acpi_os_map_memory() and acpi_os_ioremap() back-end to split
them into two separate code paths:
acpi_os_memmap() -> memory semantics
acpi_os_ioremap() -> MMIO semantics
The split allows the architectural implementation back-ends to detect
the default memory attributes required by the mapping in question
(ie the mapping API defines the semantics memory vs MMIO) and map the
memory accordingly.

Commit 71f6428332 ("ACPI: utils: Fix reference counting in
for_each_acpi_dev_match()") started doing "acpi_dev_put()" on a pointer
that was possibly NULL. That fails miserably, because that helper
inline function is not set up to handle that case.
Just make acpi_dev_put() silently accept a NULL pointer, rather than
calling down to put_device() with an invalid offset off that NULL
pointer.

Currently it's possible to iterate over the dangling pointer in case the device

Instead, let's move that call inside acpi_dev_get_next_match_dev().

In some ACPI tables we encounter, devices use the _DEP method to assert
a dependence on other ACPI devices as opposed to the OpRegions that the
specification intends.
We need to be able to find those devices "from" the dependee, so add
a callback and a wrapper to walk over the acpi_dep_list and return
the dependent ACPI device.

The acpi_walk_dep_device_list() function is not as generic as its
name implies, serving only to decrement the dependency count for each
dependent device of the input.
Extend it to accept a callback which can be applied to all the
dependencies in acpi_dep_list.
Replace all existing calls to the function with calls to a wrapper,
passing a callback that applies the same dependency reduction.

The macro requires to call acpi_dev_put() on each iteration.
Due to this it doesn't tolerate sudden disappearence of the devices.
Document all these nuances to prevent users blindly call it without
understanding the possible issues.
While at it, add the note to the acpi_dev_get_next_match_dev() and
advertise acpi_dev_put() instead of put_device() in the whole family
of the helper functions.

IORT revision E.b (ARM DEN 0049E.b) contains a few additions like,
-Added an identifier field in the node descriptors to aid table
cross-referencing.
-Introduced the Reserved Memory Range(RMR) node. This is used
to describe memory ranges that are used by endpoints and require
a unity mapping in SMMU.
-Introduced a flag in the RC node to express support for PRI.
-Added a flag in the RC node to declare support for PASID forward
information.
Please note that IORT Rev E and E.a have known issues and are not

ACPICA commit eefb865355514048380d921de5efcf30027d6b02
IVHD type 40h uses the same field layout as type 11h, but adds support
for a new device entry type F0h (ACPI HID device entry). The new device
entry type has variable length: after fixed-length fields occupying 22
bytes, there's a field of length up to 255 (as given by the preceding
field).

For convenience, add empty stubs of library functions defined in
cppc_acpi.c for the CONFIG_ACPI_CPPC_LIB unset case.
Because one of them needs to return CPUFREQ_ETERNAL, include
linux/cpufreq.h into the CPPC library header file and drop the
direct inclusion of it from cppc_acpi.c.

The decrementation of acpi_device_bus_id->instance_no
in acpi_device_del() is incorrect, because it may cause
a duplicate instance number to be allocated next time
a device with the same acpi_device_bus_id is added.
Replace above mentioned approach by using IDA framework.
While at it, define the instance range to be [0, 4096).

Drop the definitions of the following symbols:
ACPI_SBS_COMPONENT
ACPI_FAN_COMPONENT
ACPI_CONTAINER_COMPONENT

debug documentation to avoid confusing users by making the impression
that the ACPICA debug can be used for anything other than ACPICA
itself, which is incorrect.

The ACPI_DEBUG_PRINT() and ACPI_EXCEPTION() macros are used for
message printing in the ACPICA code and they should not be used
elsewhere. Special configuration (either kernel command line or
sysfs-based) is needed to see the messages printed by them and
the format of those messages is also special and convoluted.
For this reason, replace all of the ACPI_DEBUG_PRINT() and
ACPI_EXCEPTION() instances in the ACPI processor driver with
corresponding dev_*(), acpi_handle_*() and pr_*() calls depending
on the context in which they appear.
Also drop the ACPI_PROCESSOR_COMPONENT definition that is not going
to be necessary any more.

Starting from Intel Platform VT-d v3.2, BIOS may provide new remapping
structure SATC for SOC integrated devices, according to section 8.8 of
Intel VT-d architecture specification v3.2. The SATC structure reports
a list of the devices that require ATS for normal device operation. It
is a functional requirement that these devices will not work without OS
enabling ATS capability.
This patch introduces the new enum value and structure to represent the
remapping information. Kernel should parse the information from the
reporting structure and enable ATC for the devices as needed.

The cpc_reg address does not represent either an I/O virtual address,
nor a field located in iomem. This address is used as an address offset
which eventually is given as physical address argument to ioremap or PCC

ACPICA commit 4b9135f5774caa796ddf826448811e8e7f08ef2f
GCC 7.1 gained -Wimplicit-fallthrough to warn on implicit fallthrough,
as well as __attribute__((__fallthrough__)) and comments to explicitly
denote that cases of fallthrough were intentional. Clang also supports
this warning and statement attribute, but not the comment form.
Robert Moore provides additional context about the lint comments being
removed. They were for "an old version of PC-Lint, which we don't use
anymore." Drop those.
This will help us enable -Wimplicit-fallthrough throughout the Linux
kernel.

ACPICA commit 1a3a549286ea9db07d7ec700e7a70dd8bcc4354e
The macros to classify different AML exception codes are broken. For
instance,
ACPI_ENV_EXCEPTION(Status)
will always evaluate to zero due to
#define AE_CODE_ENVIRONMENTAL 0x0000
#define ACPI_ENV_EXCEPTION(Status) (Status & AE_CODE_ENVIRONMENTAL)
Similarly, ACPI_AML_EXCEPTION(Status) will evaluate to a non-zero
value for error codes of type AE_CODE_PROGRAMMER, AE_CODE_ACPI_TABLES,
as well as AE_CODE_AML, and not just AE_CODE_AML as the name suggests.
This commit fixes those checks.

The cppc_cpudata per-cpu storage was inefficient (1) additional to causing
functional issues (2) when CPUs are hotplugged out, due to per-cpu data
being improperly initialised.
(1) The amount of information needed for CPPC performance control in its
cpufreq driver depends on the domain (PSD) coordination type:
ANY: One set of CPPC control and capability data (e.g desired
performance, highest/lowest performance, etc) applies to all
CPUs in the domain.
ALL: Same as ANY. To be noted that this type is not currently
supported. When supported, information about which CPUs
belong to a domain is needed in order for frequency change
requests to be sent to each of them.
HW: It's necessary to store CPPC control and capability
information for all the CPUs. HW will then coordinate the
performance state based on their limitations and requests.
NONE: Same as HW. No HW coordination is expected.
Despite this, the previous initialisation code would indiscriminately
allocate memory for all CPUs (all_cpu_data) and unnecessarily
duplicate performance capabilities and the domain sharing mask and type
for each possible CPU.
(2) With the current per-cpu structure, when having ANY coordination,
the cppc_cpudata cpu information is not initialised (will remain 0)
for all CPUs in a policy, other than policy->cpu. When policy->cpu is
hotplugged out, the driver will incorrectly use the uninitialised (0)
value of the other CPUs when making frequency changes. Additionally,
the previous values stored in the perf_ctrls.desired_perf will be
lost when policy->cpu changes.
Therefore replace the array of per cpu data with a list. The memory for
each structure is allocated at policy init, where a single structure
can be allocated per policy, not per cpu. In order to accommodate the
struct list_head node in the cppc_cpudata structure, the now unused cpu
and cur_policy variables are removed.
For example, on a arm64 Juno platform with 6 CPUs: (0, 1, 2, 3) in PSD1,
(4, 5) in PSD2 - ANY coordination, the memory allocation comparison shows:
Before patch:
- ANY coordination:
total slack req alloc/free caller
0 0 0 0/1 _kernel_size_le_hi32+0x0xffff800008ff7810
0 0 0 0/6 _kernel_size_le_hi32+0x0xffff800008ff7808
128 80 48 1/0 _kernel_size_le_hi32+0x0xffff800008ffc070
768 0 768 6/0 _kernel_size_le_hi32+0x0xffff800008ffc0e4
After patch:
- ANY coordination:
total slack req alloc/free caller
256 0 256 2/0 _kernel_size_le_hi32+0x0xffff800008fed410
0 0 0 0/2 _kernel_size_le_hi32+0x0xffff800008fed274
Additional notes:
- A pointer to the policy's cppc_cpudata is stored in policy->driver_data
- Driver registration is skipped if _CPC entries are not present.

The idea behind acpi_pm_set_bridge_wakeup() was to allow bridges to
be reference counted for wakeup enabling, because they may be enabled
to signal wakeup on behalf of their subordinate devices and that
may happen for multiple times in a row, whereas for the other devices
it only makes sense to enable wakeup signaling once.
However, this becomes problematic if the bridge itself is suspended,
because it is treated as a "regular" device in that case and the
reference counting doesn't work.
For instance, suppose that there are two devices below a bridge and
they both can signal wakeup. Every time one of them is suspended,
wakeup signaling is enabled for the bridge, so when they both have
been suspended, the bridge's wakeup reference counter value is 2.
Say that the bridge is suspended subsequently and acpi_pci_wakeup()
is called for it. Because the bridge can signal wakeup, that
function will invoke acpi_pm_set_device_wakeup() to configure it
and __acpi_pm_set_device_wakeup() will be called with the last
argument equal to 1. This causes __acpi_device_wakeup_enable()
invoked by it to omit the reference counting, because the reference
counter of the target device (the bridge) is 2 at that time.
Now say that the bridge resumes and one of the device below it
resumes too, so the bridge's reference counter becomes 0 and
wakeup signaling is disabled for it, but there is still the other
suspended device which may need the bridge to signal wakeup on its
behalf and that is not going to work.
To address this scenario, use wakeup enable reference counting for
all devices, not just for bridges, so drop the last argument from
__acpi_device_wakeup_enable() and __acpi_pm_set_device_wakeup(),
which causes acpi_pm_set_device_wakeup() and
acpi_pm_set_bridge_wakeup() to become identical, so drop the latter
and use the former instead of it everywhere.

Patch series "device-dax: Support sub-dividing soft-reserved ranges", v5.
The device-dax facility allows an address range to be directly mapped
through a chardev, or optionally hotplugged to the core kernel page
allocator as System-RAM. It is the mechanism for converting persistent
memory (pmem) to be used as another volatile memory pool i.e. the current
Memory Tiering hot topic on linux-mm.
In the case of pmem the nvdimm-namespace-label mechanism can sub-divide
it, but that labeling mechanism is not available / applicable to
soft-reserved ("EFI specific purpose") memory [3]. This series provides a
sysfs-mechanism for the daxctl utility to enable provisioning of
volatile-soft-reserved memory ranges.
The motivations for this facility are:
1/ Allow performance differentiated memory ranges to be split between
kernel-managed and directly-accessed use cases.
2/ Allow physical memory to be provisioned along performance relevant
address boundaries. For example, divide a memory-side cache [4] along
cache-color boundaries.
3/ Parcel out soft-reserved memory to VMs using device-dax as a security
/ permissions boundary [5]. Specifically I have seen people (ab)using
memmap=nn!ss (mark System-RAM as Persistent Memory) just to get the
device-dax interface on custom address ranges. A follow-on for the VM
use case is to teach device-dax to dynamically allocate 'struct page' at
runtime to reduce the duplication of 'struct page' space in both the
guest and the host kernel for the same physical pages.

CPER records describing a firmware-first error are identified by GUID.
The ghes driver currently logs, but ignores any unknown CPER records.
This prevents describing errors that can't be represented by a standard
entry, that would otherwise allow a driver to recover from an error.
The UEFI spec calls these 'Non-standard Section Body' (N.2.3 of
version 2.8).
Add a notifier chain for these non-standard/vendor-records. Callers
must identify their type of records by GUID.
Record data is copied to memory from the ghes_estatus_pool to allow
us to keep it until after the notifier has run.

Define ACPI_GPE_USE_LOGICAL_ADDRESSES in aclinux.h and modify
acpi_os_initialize() to store the logical addresses of the FADT GPE
blocks 0 and 1 in acpi_gbl_xgpe0_block_logical_address and
acpi_gbl_xgpe1_block_logical_address, respectively, so as to allow
ACPICA to use them for accessing GPE registers in system memory,
instead of using their physical addresses and looking up the
corresponding logical addresses on every access attempt, which is
inefficient.

Modify acpi_os_map_generic_address() to return the pointer returned
by acpi_os_map_iomem() which represents the logical address
corresponding to the struct acpi_generic_address argument passed to
it or NULL if that address cannot be obtained (for example, the
argument does not represent an address in system memory or it could
not be mapped by the OS).
Among other things, that will allow the ACPI OS layer to pass the
logical addresses of the FADT GPE blocks 0 and 1 to ACPICA going
forward.

Some HW devices are created as child devices of proprietary busses,
that have a bus specific policy defining how the child devices
wires representing the devices ID are translated into IOMMU and
IRQ controllers device IDs.
Current IORT code provides translations for:
- PCI devices, where the device ID is well identified at bus level
as the requester ID (RID)
- Platform devices that are endpoint devices where the device ID is
retrieved from the ACPI object IORT mappings (Named components single
mappings). A platform device is represented in IORT as a named
component node
For devices that are child devices of proprietary busses the IORT
firmware represents the bus node as a named component node in IORT
and it is up to that named component node to define in/out bus
specific ID translations for the bus child devices that are
allocated and created in a bus specific manner.
In order to make IORT ID translations available for proprietary
bus child devices, the current ACPI (and IORT) code must be
augmented to provide an additional ID parameter to acpi_dma_configure()
representing the child devices input ID. This ID is bus specific
and it is retrieved in bus specific code.
By adding an ID parameter to acpi_dma_configure(), the IORT
code can map the child device ID to an IOMMU stream ID through
the IORT named component representing the bus in/out ID mappings.

ACPICA commit 7ba2f3d91a32f104765961fda0ed78b884ae193d
The current codebase makes use of one-element arrays in the following
form:
struct something {
int length;
u8 data[1];
};
struct something *instance;
instance = kmalloc(sizeof(*instance) + size, GFP_KERNEL);
instance->length = size;
memcpy(instance->data, source, size);
but the preferred mechanism to declare variable-length types such as
these ones is a flexible array member[1][2], introduced in C99:
struct foo {
int stuff;
struct boo array[];
};
By making use of the mechanism above, we will get a compiler warning
in case the flexible array does not occur last in the structure,
which will help us prevent some kind of undefined behavior bugs from
being inadvertently introduced[3] to the linux codebase from now on.
This issue was found with the help of Coccinelle and audited _manually_.

The ACPICA's strategy with respect to the handling of memory mappings
associated with memory operation regions is to avoid mapping the
entire region at once which may be problematic at least in principle
(for example, it may lead to conflicts with overlapping mappings
having different attributes created by drivers). It may also be
wasteful, because memory opregions on some systems take up vast
chunks of address space while the fields in those regions actually
accessed by AML are sparsely distributed.
For this reason, a one-page "window" is mapped for a given opregion
on the first memory access through it and if that "window" does not
cover an address range accessed through that opregion subsequently,
it is unmapped and a new "window" is mapped to replace it. Next,
if the new "window" is not sufficient to acess memory through the
opregion in question in the future, it will be replaced with yet
another "window" and so on. That may lead to a suboptimal sequence
of memory mapping and unmapping operations, for example if two fields
in one opregion separated from each other by a sufficiently wide
chunk of unused address space are accessed in an alternating pattern.
The situation may still be suboptimal if the deferred unmapping
introduced previously is supported by the OS layer. For instance,
the alternating memory access pattern mentioned above may produce
a relatively long list of mappings to release with substantial
duplication among the entries in it, which could be avoided if
acpi_ex_system_memory_space_handler() did not release the mapping
used by it previously as soon as the current access was not covered
by it.
In order to improve that, modify acpi_ex_system_memory_space_handler()
to preserve all of the memory mappings created by it until the memory
regions associated with them go away.
Accordingly, update acpi_ev_system_memory_region_setup() to unmap all
memory associated with memory opregions that go away.

Recent extensions of the TPM2 ACPI table added 3 more fields
including 12 bytes of start method specific parameters and Log Area
Minimum Length (u32) and Log Area Start Address (u64). So, we define
a new structure acpi_tpm2_phy that holds these optional new fields.
The new fields allow non-UEFI systems to access the TPM2's log.
The specification that has the new fields is the following:

memory_failure() offlines or repairs pages of memory that have been
discovered to be corrupt. These may be detected by an external
component, (e.g. the memory controller), and notified via an IRQ.
In this case the work is queued as not all of memory_failure()s work
can happen in IRQ context.
If the error was detected as a result of user-space accessing a
corrupt memory location the CPU may take an abort instead. On arm64
this is a 'synchronous external abort', and on a firmware first
system it is replayed using NOTIFY_SEA.
This notification has NMI like properties, (it can interrupt
IRQ-masked code), so the memory_failure() work is queued. If we
return to user-space before the queued memory_failure() work is
processed, we will take the fault again. This loop may cause platform
firmware to exceed some threshold and reboot when Linux could have
recovered from this error.
For NMIlike notifications keep track of whether memory_failure() work
was queued, and make task_work pending to flush out the queue.
To save memory allocations, the task_work is allocated as part of
the ghes_estatus_node, and free()ing it back to the pool is deferred.

Pull locking updates from Ingo Molnar:
"The main changes in this cycle were:
- Continued user-access cleanups in the futex code.
- percpu-rwsem rewrite that uses its own waitqueue and atomic_t
instead of an embedded rwsem. This addresses a couple of
weaknesses, but the primary motivation was complications on the -rt
kernel.
- Introduce raw lock nesting detection on lockdep
(CONFIG_PROVE_RAW_LOCK_NESTING=y), document the raw_lock vs. normal
lock differences. This too originates from -rt.
- Reuse lockdep zapped chain_hlocks entries, to conserve RAM
footprint on distro-ish kernels running into the "BUG:
MAX_LOCKDEP_CHAIN_HLOCKS too low!" depletion of the lockdep
chain-entries pool.
- Misc cleanups, smaller fixes and enhancements - see the changelog
for details"

NHLT (Non-HDAudio Link Table) provides configuration of audio
endpoints for Intel SST (Smart Sound Technology) DSP products.
Similarly to other ACPI tables, data provided by BIOS may not
describe it correctly, thus overriding is required.
ACPI override mechanism checks for unknown signature before
proceeding. Update known signatures array to support NHLT.

The check carried out by acpi_any_gpe_status_set() is not precise enough
for the suspend-to-idle implementation in Linux and in some cases it is
necessary make it skip one GPE (specifically, the EC GPE) from the check
to prevent a race condition leading to a premature system resume from
occurring.
For this reason, redefine acpi_any_gpe_status_set() to take the number
of a GPE to skip as an argument.

up the system too and broke RTC wakeup from suspend-to-idle as a

Fix this issue by checking the fixed events in acpi_s2idle_wake() in
addition to checking wakeup GPEs and break out of the suspend-to-idle
loop if the status bits of any enabled fixed events are set then.
