9df6a4870d integrity: Fix possible multiple allocation in integrity_inode_get()
When integrity_inode_get() is querying and inserting the cache, there
is a conditional race in the concurrent environment.

The race condition is the result of not properly implementing
"double-checked locking". In this case, it first checks to see if the
iint cache record exists before taking the lock, but doesn't check
again after taking the integrity_iint_lock.

db1d1e8b98 IMA: use vfs_getattr_nosec to get the i_version
IMA currently accesses the i_version out of the inode directly when it
does a measurement. This is fine for most simple filesystems, but can be
problematic with more complex setups (e.g. overlayfs).

Make IMA instead call vfs_getattr_nosec to get this info. This allows
the filesystem to determine whether and how to report the i_version, and
should allow IMA to work properly with a broader class of filesystems in
the future.

1a0beef98b Two major features are included into this pull request. The links for
the landed patch sets are below.

The .machine keyring, used for Machine Owner Keys (MOK), acquired the
ability to store only CA enforced keys, and put rest to the .platform
keyring, thus separating the code signing keys from the keys that are
used to sign certificates. This essentially unlocks the use of the
.machine keyring as a trust anchor for IMA. It is an opt-in feature,
meaning that the additional contraints won't brick anyone who does not
 care about them.

The 2nd feature is the enablement of interrupt based transactions with
discrete TPM chips (tpm_tis). There was code for this existing but it
never really worked so I consider this a new feature rather than a bug
fix. Before the driver just falled back to the polling mode.

099f26f22f integrity: machine keyring CA configuration
Add machine keyring CA restriction options to control the type of
keys that may be added to it. The motivation is separation of
certificate signing from code signing keys. Subsquent work will
limit certificates being loaded into the IMA keyring to code
signing keys used for signature verification.

When no restrictions are selected, all Machine Owner Keys (MOK) are added
to the machine keyring. When CONFIG_INTEGRITY_CA_MACHINE_KEYRING is
selected, the CA bit must be true. Also the key usage must contain
keyCertSign, any other usage field may be set as well.

When CONFIG_INTEGRITY_CA_MACHINE_KEYRING_MAX is selected, the CA bit must
be true. Also the key usage must contain keyCertSign and the
digitialSignature usage may not be set.

23baf831a3 mm, treewide: redefine MAX_ORDER sanely
MAX_ORDER currently defined as number of orders page allocator supports:
user can ask buddy allocator for page order between 0 and MAX_ORDER-1.

This definition is counter-intuitive and lead to number of bugs all over
the kernel.

Change the definition of MAX_ORDER to be inclusive: the range of orders
user can ask from buddy allocator is 0..MAX_ORDER now.

644f17412f IMA: allow/fix UML builds
UML supports HAS_IOMEM since 0bbadafdc4 (um: allow disabling
NO_IOMEM).

Current IMA build on UML fails on allmodconfig (with TCG_TPM=m):

ld: security/integrity/ima/ima_queue.o: in function `ima_add_template_entry':

Modify the IMA Kconfig entry so that it selects TCG_TPM if HAS_IOMEM
is set, regardless of the UML Kconfig setting.
This updates TCG_TPM from =m to =y and fixes the linker errors.

b7c1ae4bcc Revert "integrity: double check iint_cache was initialized"
With the recent introduction of LSM_ORDER_LAST, the 'integrity' LSM is
always initialized (if selected in the kernel configuration) and the
iint_cache is always created (the kernel panics on error). Thus, the
additional check of iint_cache in integrity_inode_get() is no longer
necessary. If the 'integrity' LSM is not selected in the kernel
configuration, integrity_inode_get() just returns NULL.

This reverts commit 92063f3ca7.

42994ee3cd security: Introduce LSM_ORDER_LAST and set it for the integrity LSM
Introduce LSM_ORDER_LAST, to satisfy the requirement of LSMs needing to be
last, e.g. the 'integrity' LSM, without changing the kernel command line or
configuration.

Also, set this order for the 'integrity' LSM. While not enforced, this is
the only LSM expected to use it.

Similarly to LSM_ORDER_FIRST, LSMs with LSM_ORDER_LAST are always enabled
and put at the end of the LSM list, if selected in the kernel
configuration. Setting one of these orders alone, does not cause the LSMs
to be selected and compiled built-in in the kernel.

Finally, for LSM_ORDER_MUTABLE LSMs, set the found variable to true if an
LSM is found, regardless of its order. In this way, the kernel would not
wrongly report that the LSM is not built-in in the kernel if its order is
LSM_ORDER_LAST.

4b3e71e9a3 integrity/powerpc: Support loading keys from PLPKS
Add support for loading keys from the PLPKS on pseries machines, with the
"ibm,plpks-sb-v1" format.

The object format is expected to be the same, so there shouldn't be any
functional differences between objects retrieved on powernv or pseries.

Unlike on powernv, on pseries the format string isn't contained in the
device tree. Use secvar_ops->format() to fetch the format string in a
generic manner, rather than searching the device tree ourselves.

(The current code searches the device tree for a node compatible with
"ibm,edk2-compat-v1". This patch switches to calling secvar_ops->format(),
which in the case of OPAL/powernv means opal_secvar_format(), which
searches the device tree for a node compatible with "ibm,secvar-backend"
and checks its "format" property. These are equivalent, as skiboot creates
a node with both "ibm,edk2-compat-v1" and "ibm,secvar-backend" as
compatible strings.)

4958db3245 ima: Introduce MMAP_CHECK_REQPROT hook
Commit 98de59bfe4 ("take calculation of final prot in
security_mmap_file() into a helper") caused ima_file_mmap() to receive the
protections requested by the application and not those applied by the
kernel.

After restoring the original MMAP_CHECK behavior, existing attestation
servers might be broken due to not being ready to handle new entries
(previously missing) in the IMA measurement list.

Restore the original correct MMAP_CHECK behavior, instead of keeping the
current buggy one and introducing a new hook with the correct behavior.
Otherwise, there would have been the risk of IMA users not noticing the
problem at all, as they would actively have to update the IMA policy, to
switch to the correct behavior.

Also, introduce the new MMAP_CHECK_REQPROT hook to keep the current
behavior, so that IMA users could easily fix a broken attestation server,
although this approach is discouraged due to potentially missing
measurements.

4971c268b8 ima: Align ima_file_mmap() parameters with mmap_file LSM hook
Commit 98de59bfe4 ("take calculation of final prot in
security_mmap_file() into a helper") moved the code to update prot, to be
the actual protections applied to the kernel, to a new helper called
mmap_prot().

However, while without the helper ima_file_mmap() was getting the updated
prot, with the helper ima_file_mmap() gets the original prot, which
contains the protections requested by the application.

A possible consequence of this change is that, if an application calls
mmap() with only PROT_READ, and the kernel applies PROT_EXEC in addition,
that application would have access to executable memory without having this
event recorded in the IMA measurement list. This situation would occur for
example if the application, before mmap(), calls the personality() system
call with READ_IMPLIES_EXEC as the first argument.

Align ima_file_mmap() parameters with those of the mmap_file LSM hook, so
that IMA can receive both the requested prot and the final prot. Since the
requested protections are stored in a new variable, and the final
protections are stored in the existing variable, this effectively restores
the original behavior of the MMAP_CHECK hook.

Pull lsm updates from Paul Moore:

 - Improve the error handling in the device cgroup such that memory
allocation failures when updating the access policy do not
   potentially alter the policy.

 - Some minor fixes to reiserfs to ensure that it properly releases
   LSM-related xattr values.

 - Update the security_socket_getpeersec_stream() LSM hook to take
   sockptr_t values.

Previously the net/BPF folks updated the getsockopt code in the
network stack to leverage the sockptr_t type to make it easier to
pass both kernel and __user pointers, but unfortunately when they did
so they didn't convert the LSM hook.

While there was/is no immediate risk by not converting the LSM hook,
it seems like this is a mistake waiting to happen so this patch
proactively does the LSM hook conversion.

 - Convert vfs_getxattr_alloc() to return an int instead of a ssize_t
and cleanup the callers. Internally the function was never going to
return anything larger than an int and the callers were doing some
very odd things casting the return value; this patch fixes all that
and helps bring a bit of sanity to vfs_getxattr_alloc() and its
   callers.

 - More verbose, and helpful, LSM debug output when the system is booted
with "lsm.debug" on the command line. There are examples in the
commit description, but the quick summary is that this patch provides
better information about which LSMs are enabled and the ordering in
   which they are processed.

 - General comment and kernel-doc fixes and cleanups.

f6fbd8cbf3 lsm,fs: fix vfs_getxattr_alloc() return type and caller error paths
The vfs_getxattr_alloc() function currently returns a ssize_t value
despite the fact that it only uses int values internally for return

c7423dbdbc ima: Handle -ESTALE returned by ima_filter_rule_match()
IMA relies on the blocking LSM policy notifier callback to update the

be returned by ima_filter_rule_match() if it is called with a LSM rule

d57378d3aa ima: Simplify ima_lsm_copy_rule
Currently ima_lsm_copy_rule() set the arg_p field of the source rule to
NULL, so that the source rule could be freed afterward. It does not make
sense for this behavior to be inside a "copy" function. So move it
outside and let the caller handle this field.

ima_lsm_copy_rule() now produce a shallow copy of the original entry
including args_p field. Meaning only the lsm.rule and the rule itself
should be freed for the original rule. Thus, instead of calling
ima_lsm_free_rule() which frees lsm.rule as well as args_p field, free
the lsm.rule directly.

evm_xattr_acl_change() is dead code. Before this commit the callchain was:

where evm_protect_xattr() was hit from evm_inode_setxattr() and
evm_inode_removexattr(). But now we have evm_inode_set_acl() and

integrity: implement get and set acl hook
The current way of setting and getting posix acls through the generic
xattr interface is error prone and type unsafe. The vfs needs to
interpret and fixup posix acls before storing or reporting it to
userspace. Various hacks exist to make this work. The code is hard to
understand and difficult to maintain in it's current form. Instead of
making this work by hacking posix acls through xattr handlers we are
building a dedicated posix acl api around the get and set inode
operations. This removes a lot of hackiness and makes the codepaths
easier to maintain. A lot of background can be found in [1].

So far posix acls were passed as a void blob to the security and
integrity modules. Some of them like evm then proceed to interpret the
void pointer and convert it into the kernel internal struct posix acl
representation to perform their integrity checking magic. This is
obviously pretty problematic as that requires knowledge that only the
vfs is guaranteed to have and has lead to various bugs. Add a proper
security hook for setting posix acls and pass down the posix acls in
their appropriate vfs format instead of hacking it through a void
pointer stored in the uapi format.

I spent considerate time in the security module and integrity
infrastructure and audited all codepaths. EVM is the only part that
really has restrictions based on the actual posix acl values passed
through it (e.g., i_mode). Before this dedicated hook EVM used to translate
from the uapi posix acl format sent to it in the form of a void pointer
into the vfs format. This is not a good thing. Instead of hacking around in
the uapi struct give EVM the posix acls in the appropriate vfs format and
perform sane permissions checks that mirror what it used to to in the
generic xattr hook.

IMA doesn't have any restrictions on posix acls. When posix acls are
changed it just wants to update its appraisal status to trigger an EVM
revalidation.

The removal of posix acls is equivalent to passing NULL to the posix set
acl hooks. This is the same as before through the generic xattr api.

Merge tag 'fs.acl.rework.prep.v6.1' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/vfs/idmapping

Pull vfs acl updates from Christian Brauner:
"These are general fixes and preparatory changes related to the ongoing
posix acl rework. The actual rework where we build a type safe posix
acl api wasn't ready for this merge window but we're hopeful for the
  next merge window.

  General fixes:

   - Some filesystems like 9p and cifs have to implement custom posix
acl handlers because they require access to the dentry in order to
set and get posix acls while the set and get inode operations
currently don't. But the ntfs3 filesystem has no such requirement
and thus implemented custom posix acl xattr handlers when it really
didn't have to. So this pr contains patch that just implements set
and get inode operations for ntfs3 and switches it to rely on the
generic posix acl xattr handlers. (We would've appreciated reviews
from the ntfs3 maintainers but we didn't get any. But hey, if we
really broke it we'll fix it. But fstests for ntfs3 said it's
     fine.)

   - The posix_acl_fix_xattr_common() helper has been adapted so it can
be used by a few more callers and avoiding open-coding the same
     checks over and over.

Other than the two general fixes this series introduces a new helper
vfs_set_acl_prepare(). The reason for this helper is so that we can
mitigate one of the source that change {g,u}id values directly in the
uapi struct. With the vfs_set_acl_prepare() helper we can move the
idmapped mount fixup into the generic posix acl set handler.

The advantage of this is that it allows us to remove the
posix_acl_setxattr_idmapped_mnt() helper which so far we had to call
in vfs_setxattr() to account for idmapped mounts. While semantically
correct the problem with this approach was that we had to keep the
value parameter of the generic vfs_setxattr() call as non-const. This
  is rectified in this series.

Ultimately, we will get rid of all the extreme kludges and type
unsafety once we have merged the posix api - hopefully during the next
merge window - built solely around get and set inode operations. Which
incidentally will also improve handling of posix acls in security and
especially in integrity modesl. While this will come with temporarily
having two inode operation for posix acls that is nothing compared to
the problems we have right now and so well worth it. We'll end up with
something that we can actually reason about instead of needing to
write novels to explain what's going on"

acl: move idmapping handling into posix_acl_xattr_set()
The uapi POSIX ACL struct passed through the value argument during
setxattr() contains {g,u}id values encoded via ACL_{GROUP,USER} entries
that should actually be stored in the form of k{g,u}id_t (See [1] for a
long explanation of the issue.).

In 0c5fd887d2 ("acl: move idmapped mount fixup into vfs_{g,s}etxattr()")
we took the mount's idmapping into account in order to let overlayfs
handle POSIX ACLs on idmapped layers correctly. The fixup is currently
performed directly in vfs_setxattr() which piles on top of the earlier
hackiness by handling the mount's idmapping and stuff the vfs{g,u}id_t
values into the uapi struct as well. While that is all correct and works
fine it's just ugly.

Now that we have introduced vfs_make_posix_acl() earlier move handling
idmapped mounts out of vfs_setxattr() and into the POSIX ACL handler
where it belongs.

Note that we also need to call vfs_make_posix_acl() for EVM which
interpretes POSIX ACLs during security_inode_setxattr(). Leave them a
longer comment for future reference.

All filesystems that support idmapped mounts via FS_ALLOW_IDMAP use the
standard POSIX ACL xattr handlers and are covered by this change. This
includes overlayfs which simply calls vfs_{g,s}etxattr().

The following filesystems use custom POSIX ACL xattr handlers: 9p, cifs,
ecryptfs, and ntfs3 (and overlayfs but we've covered that in the paragraph
above) and none of them support idmapped mounts yet.

Merge tag 'fs.idmapped.vfsuid.v5.20' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/brauner/linux

Pull fs idmapping updates from Christian Brauner:
"This introduces the new vfs{g,u}id_t types we agreed on. Similar to
k{g,u}id_t the new types are just simple wrapper structs around
  regular {g,u}id_t types.

They allow to establish a type safety boundary in the VFS for idmapped
mounts preventing confusion betwen {g,u}ids mapped into an idmapped
mount and {g,u}ids mapped into the caller's or the filesystem's
  idmapping.

An initial set of helpers is introduced that allows to operate on
vfs{g,u}id_t types. We will remove all references to non-type safe
idmapped mounts helpers in the very near future. The patches do
  already exist.

This converts the core attribute changing codepaths which become
significantly easier to reason about because of this change.

Just a few highlights here as the patches give detailed overviews of
what is happening in the commit messages:

   - The kernel internal struct iattr contains type safe vfs{g,u}id_t
values clearly communicating that these values have to take a given
     mount's idmapping into account.

   - The ownership values placed in struct iattr to change ownership are
identical for idmapped and non-idmapped mounts going forward. This
also allows to simplify stacking filesystems such as overlayfs that
change attributes In other words, they always represent the values.

   - Instead of open coding checks for whether ownership changes have
been requested and an actual update of the inode is required we now
have small static inline wrappers that abstract this logic away
removing a lot of code duplication from individual filesystems that
     all open-coded the same checks"

543ce63b66 lockdown: Fix kexec lockdown bypass with ima policy
The lockdown LSM is primarily used in conjunction with UEFI Secure Boot.
This LSM may also be used on machines without UEFI. It can also be
enabled when UEFI Secure Boot is disabled. One of lockdown's features
is to prevent kexec from loading untrusted kernels. Lockdown can be
enabled through a bootparam or after the kernel has booted through
securityfs.

If IMA appraisal is used with the "ima_appraise=log" boot param,
lockdown can be defeated with kexec on any machine when Secure Boot is
disabled or unavailable. IMA prevents setting "ima_appraise=log" from
the boot param when Secure Boot is enabled, but this does not cover
cases where lockdown is used without Secure Boot.

To defeat lockdown, boot without Secure Boot and add ima_appraise=log to
the kernel command line; then:

  $ echo "integrity" > /sys/kernel/security/lockdown
  $ echo "appraise func=KEXEC_KERNEL_CHECK appraise_type=imasig" > \
    /sys/kernel/security/ima/policy
  $ kexec -ls unsigned-kernel

Add a call to verify ima appraisal is set to "enforce" whenever lockdown
is enabled. This fixes CVE-2022-21505.

b69a2afd5a x86/kexec: Carry forward IMA measurement log on kexec
On kexec file load, the Integrity Measurement Architecture (IMA)
subsystem may verify the IMA signature of the kernel and initramfs, and
measure it. The command line parameters passed to the kernel in the
kexec call may also be measured by IMA.

A remote attestation service can verify a TPM quote based on the TPM
event log, the IMA measurement list and the TPM PCR data. This can
be achieved only if the IMA measurement log is carried over from the
current kernel to the next kernel across the kexec call.

PowerPC and ARM64 both achieve this using device tree with a
"linux,ima-kexec-buffer" node. x86 platforms generally don't make use of
device tree, so use the setup_data mechanism to pass the IMA buffer to
the new kernel.

attr: port attribute changes to new types
Now that we introduced new infrastructure to increase the type safety
for filesystems supporting idmapped mounts port the first part of the
vfs over to them.

This ports the attribute changes codepaths to rely on the new better
helpers using a dedicated type.

Before this change we used to take a shortcut and place the actual
values that would be written to inode->i_{g,u}id into struct iattr. This
had the advantage that we moved idmappings mostly out of the picture
early on but it made reasoning about changes more difficult than it
should be.

The filesystem was never explicitly told that it dealt with an idmapped
mount. The transition to the value that needed to be stored in
inode->i_{g,u}id appeared way too early and increased the probability of
bugs in various codepaths.

We know place the same value in struct iattr no matter if this is an
idmapped mount or not. The vfs will only deal with type safe
vfs{g,u}id_t. This makes it massively safer to perform permission checks
as the type will tell us what checks we need to perform and what helpers
we need to use.

Fileystems raising FS_ALLOW_IDMAP can't simply write ia_vfs{g,u}id to
inode->i_{g,u}id since they are different types. Instead they need to
use the dedicated vfs{g,u}id_to_k{g,u}id() helpers that map the
vfs{g,u}id into the filesystem.

The other nice effect is that filesystems like overlayfs don't need to
care about idmappings explicitly anymore and can simply set up struct
iattr accordingly directly.

fs: port to iattr ownership update helpers
Earlier we introduced new helpers to abstract ownership update and
remove code duplication. This converts all filesystems supporting
idmapped mounts to make use of these new helpers.

For now we always pass the initial idmapping which makes the idmapping
functions these helpers call nops.

This is done because we currently always pass the actual value to be
written to i_{g,u}id via struct iattr. While this allowed us to treat
the {g,u}id values in struct iattr as values that can be directly
written to inode->i_{g,u}id it also increases the potential for
confusion for filesystems.

Now that we are have dedicated types to prevent this confusion we will
ultimately only map the value from the idmapped mount into a filesystem
value that can be written to inode->i_{g,u}id when the filesystem
actually updates the inode. So pass down the initial idmapping until we
finished that conversion at which point we pass down the mount's
idmapping.

No functional changes intended.

This reverts commit ccf11dbaa0.

Commit ccf11dbaa0 ("evm: Fix memleak in init_desc") said there is
memleak in init_desc. That may be incorrect, as we can see, tmp_tfm is
saved in one of the two global variables hmac_tfm or evm_tfm[hash_algo],
then if init_desc is called next time, there is no need to alloc tfm
again, so in the error path of kmalloc desc or crypto_shash_init(desc),
It is not a problem without freeing tmp_tfm.

And also that commit did not reset the global variable to NULL after
freeing tmp_tfm and this makes *tfm a dangling pointer which may cause a
UAF issue.

398c42e2c4 ima: support fs-verity file digest based version 3 signatures
IMA may verify a file's integrity against a "good" value stored in the
'security.ima' xattr or as an appended signature, based on policy. When
the "good value" is stored in the xattr, the xattr may contain a file
hash or signature. In either case, the "good" value is preceded by a
header. The first byte of the xattr header indicates the type of data
- hash, signature - stored in the xattr. To support storing fs-verity
signatures in the 'security.ima' xattr requires further differentiating
the fs-verity signature from the existing IMA signature.

In addition the signatures stored in 'security.ima' xattr, need to be
disambiguated. Instead of directly signing the fs-verity digest, a new
signature format version 3 is defined as the hash of the ima_file_id
structure, which identifies the type of signature and the digest.

The IMA policy defines "which" files are to be measured, verified, and/or
audited. For those files being verified, the policy rules indicate "how"
the file should be verified. For example to require a file be signed,
the appraise policy rule must include the 'appraise_type' option.

	appraise_type:= [imasig] | [imasig|modsig] | [sigv3]
where 'imasig' is the original or signature format v2 (default),
where 'modsig' is an appended signature,
where 'sigv3' is the signature format v3.

The policy rule must also indicate the type of digest, if not the IMA
default, by first specifying the digest type:

	digest_type:= [verity]

The following policy rule requires fsverity signatures. The rule may be
constrained, for example based on a fsuuid or LSM label.

09091c44cb ima: use IMA default hash algorithm for integrity violations
Integrity file violations - ToM/ToU, open writers - are recorded in the IMA
measurement list, containing 0x00's in both the template data and file data
hash fields, but 0xFF's are actually extended into TPM PCRs. Although the
original 'ima' template data field ('d') is limited to 20 bytes, the 'd-ng'
template digest field is not.

The violation file data hash template field ('d-ng') is unnecessarily hard
coded to SHA1. Instead of simply replacing the hard coded SHA1 hash
algorithm with a larger hash algorithm, use the hash algorithm as defined
in "ima_hash_algo". ima_hash_algo is set to either the Kconfig IMA default
hash algorithm or as defined on the boot command line (ima_hash=).

Including a non-SHA1 file data hash algorithm in the 'd-ng' field of
violations is a cosmetic change. The template data hash field, which is
extended into the TPM PCRs, is not affected by this change and should not
affect attestation of the IMA measurement list.

Initially the 'd-ng' template field did not prefix the digest with either
"md5" or "sha1" hash algorithms. Prior to being upstreamed this changed,
but the comments and documentation were not updated. Fix the comments
and documentation.

891163adf1 ima: remove the IMA_TEMPLATE Kconfig option
The original 'ima' measurement list template contains a hash, defined
as 20 bytes, and a null terminated pathname, limited to 255
characters. Other measurement list templates permit both larger hashes
and longer pathnames. When the "ima" template is configured as the
default, a new measurement list template (ima_template=) must be
specified before specifying a larger hash algorithm (ima_hash=) on the
boot command line.

To avoid this boot command line ordering issue, remove the legacy "ima"
template configuration option, allowing it to still be specified on the
boot command line.

The root cause of this issue is that during the processing of ima_hash,
we would try to check whether the hash algorithm is compatible with the
template. If the template is not set at the moment we do the check, we
check the algorithm against the configured default template. If the
default template is "ima", then we reject any hash algorithm other than
sha1 and md5.

For example, if the compiled default template is "ima", and the default
algorithm is sha1 (which is the current default). In the cmdline, we put
in "ima_hash=sha256 ima_template=ima-ng". The expected behavior would be
that ima starts with ima-ng as the template and sha256 as the hash
algorithm. However, during the processing of "ima_hash=",
"ima_template=" has not been processed yet, and hash_setup would check
the configured hash algorithm against the compiled default: ima, and
reject sha256. So at the end, the hash algorithm that is actually used
will be sha1.

With template "ima" removed from the configured default, we ensure that
the default tempalte would at least be "ima-ng" which allows for
basically any hash algorithm.

This change would not break the algorithm compatibility checks for IMA.

169e77764a Networking changes for 5.18.
Core
 ----

  - Introduce XDP multi-buffer support, allowing the use of XDP with
jumbo frame MTUs and combination with Rx coalescing offloads (LRO).

  - Speed up netns dismantling (5x) and lower the memory cost a little.
Remove unnecessary per-netns sockets. Scope some lists to a netns.
Cut down RCU syncing. Use batch methods. Allow netdev registration
    to complete out of order.

  - Support distinguishing timestamp types (ingress vs egress) and
maintaining them across packet scrubbing points (e.g. redirect).

  - Continue the work of annotating packet drop reasons throughout
    the stack.

  - Switch netdev error counters from an atomic to dynamically
    allocated per-CPU counters.

  - Rework a few preempt_disable(), local_irq_save() and busy waiting
    sections problematic on PREEMPT_RT.

  - Extend the ref_tracker to allow catching use-after-free bugs.

 BPF
 ---

  - Introduce "packing allocator" for BPF JIT images. JITed code is
marked read only, and used to be allocated at page granularity.
Custom allocator allows for more efficient memory use, lower
iTLB pressure and prevents identity mapping huge pages from
    getting split.

  - Make use of BTF type annotations (e.g. __user, __percpu) to enforce
the correct probe read access method, add appropriate helpers.

  - Convert the BPF preload to use light skeleton and drop
    the user-mode-driver dependency.

  - Allow XDP BPF_PROG_RUN test infra to send real packets, enabling
its use as a packet generator.

  - Allow local storage memory to be allocated with GFP_KERNEL if called
from a hook allowed to sleep.

  - Introduce fprobe (multi kprobe) to speed up mass attachment (arch
    bits to come later).

  - Add unstable conntrack lookup helpers for BPF by using the BPF
    kfunc infra.

  - Allow cgroup BPF progs to return custom errors to user space.

  - Add support for AF_UNIX iterator batching.

  - Allow iterator programs to use sleepable helpers.

  - Support JIT of add, and, or, xor and xchg atomic ops on arm64.

  - Add BTFGen support to bpftool which allows to use CO-RE in kernels
    without BTF info.

  - Large number of libbpf API improvements, cleanups and deprecations.

 Protocols
 ---------

  - Micro-optimize UDPv6 Tx, gaining up to 5% in test on dummy netdev.

  - Adjust TSO packet sizes based on min_rtt, allowing very low latency
links (data centers) to always send full-sized TSO super-frames.

  - Make IPv6 flow label changes (AKA hash rethink) more configurable,
via sysctl and setsockopt. Distinguish between server and client
    behavior.

  - VxLAN support to "collect metadata" devices to terminate only
configured VNIs. This is similar to VLAN filtering in the bridge.

  - Support inserting IPv6 IOAM information to a fraction of frames.

  - Add protocol attribute to IP addresses to allow identifying where
given address comes from (kernel-generated, DHCP etc.)

  - Support setting socket and IPv6 options via cmsg on ping6 sockets.

  - Reject mis-use of ECN bits in IP headers as part of DSCP/TOS.
Define dscp_t and stop taking ECN bits into account in fib-rules.

  - Add support for locked bridge ports (for 802.1X).

  - tun: support NAPI for packets received from batched XDP buffs,
doubling the performance in some scenarios.

  - IPv6 extension header handling in Open vSwitch.

  - Support IPv6 control message load balancing in bonding, prevent
neighbor solicitation and advertisement from using the wrong port.
Support NS/NA monitor selection similar to existing ARP monitor.

  - SMC
    - improve performance with TCP_CORK and sendfile()
    - support auto-corking
    - support TCP_NODELAY

  - MCTP (Management Component Transport Protocol)
    - add user space tag control interface
    - I2C binding driver (as specified by DMTF DSP0237)

  - Multi-BSSID beacon handling in AP mode for WiFi.

  - Bluetooth:
    - handle MSFT Monitor Device Event
    - add MGMT Adv Monitor Device Found/Lost events

  - Multi-Path TCP:
    - add support for the SO_SNDTIMEO socket option
    - lots of selftest cleanups and improvements

  - Increase the max PDU size in CAN ISOTP to 64 kB.

 Driver API
 ----------

  - Add HW counters for SW netdevs, a mechanism for devices which
offload packet forwarding to report packet statistics back to
    software interfaces such as tunnels.

  - Select the default NIC queue count as a fraction of number of
physical CPU cores, instead of hard-coding to 8.

  - Expose devlink instance locks to drivers. Allow device layer of
drivers to use that lock directly instead of creating their own
which always runs into ordering issues in devlink callbacks.

  - Add header/data split indication to guide user space enabling
    of TCP zero-copy Rx.

  - Allow configuring completion queue event size.

  - Refactor page_pool to enable fragmenting after allocation.

  - Add allocation and page reuse statistics to page_pool.

280fe8367b ima: Always return a file measurement in ima_file_hash()
__ima_inode_hash() checks if a digest has been already calculated by
looking for the integrity_iint_cache structure associated to the passed
inode.

Users of ima_file_hash() (e.g. eBPF) might be interested in obtaining the
information without having to setup an IMA policy so that the digest is
always available at the time they call this function.

In addition, they likely expect the digest to be fresh, e.g. recalculated
by IMA after a file write. Although getting the digest from the
bprm_committed_creds hook (as in the eBPF test) ensures that the digest is
fresh, as the IMA hook is executed before that hook, this is not always the
case (e.g. for the mmap_file hook).

Call ima_collect_measurement() in __ima_inode_hash(), if the file
descriptor is available (passed by ima_file_hash()) and the digest is not
available/not fresh, and store the file measurement in a temporary
integrity_iint_cache structure.

This change does not cause memory usage increase, due to using the
temporary integrity_iint_cache structure, and due to freeing the
ima_digest_data structure inside integrity_iint_cache before exiting from
__ima_inode_hash().

For compatibility reasons, the behavior of ima_inode_hash() remains
unchanged.

d19967764b integrity: Introduce a Linux keyring called machine
Many UEFI Linux distributions boot using shim. The UEFI shim provides
what is called Machine Owner Keys (MOK). Shim uses both the UEFI Secure
Boot DB and MOK keys to validate the next step in the boot chain. The
MOK facility can be used to import user generated keys. These keys can
be used to sign an end-users development kernel build. When Linux
boots, both UEFI Secure Boot DB and MOK keys get loaded in the Linux
.platform keyring.

Define a new Linux keyring called machine. This keyring shall contain just
MOK keys and not the remaining keys in the platform keyring. This new
machine keyring will be used in follow on patches. Unlike keys in the
platform keyring, keys contained in the machine keyring will be trusted
within the kernel if the end-user has chosen to do so.

f2544f5e6c EVM: fix the evm= __setup handler return value
__setup() handlers should return 1 if the parameter is handled.
Returning 0 causes the entire string to be added to init's
environment strings (limited to 32 strings), unnecessarily polluting it.

Using the documented string "evm=fix" causes an Unknown parameter message:
  Unknown kernel command line parameters
"BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/bzImage-517rc5 evm=fix", will be passed to user space.

and that string is added to init's environment string space:
  Run /sbin/init as init process
    with arguments:
     /sbin/init
    with environment:
     HOME=/
     TERM=linux
     BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/bzImage-517rc5
     evm=fix

With this change, using "evm=fix" acts as expected and an invalid
option ("evm=evm") causes a warning to be printed:
  evm: invalid "evm" mode
but init's environment is not polluted with this string, as expected.

8c54135e2e ima: define ima_max_digest_data struct without a flexible array variable
To support larger hash digests in the 'iint' cache, instead of defining
the 'digest' field as the maximum digest size, the 'digest' field was
defined as a flexible array variable. The "ima_digest_data" struct was
wrapped inside a local structure with the maximum digest size. But
before adding the record to the iint cache, memory for the exact digest
size was dynamically allocated.

The original reason for defining the 'digest' field as a flexible array
variable is still valid for the 'iint' cache use case. Instead of
wrapping the 'ima_digest_data' struct in a local structure define
'ima_max_digest_data' struct.

bb8e52e490 ima: Allow template selection with ima_template[_fmt]= after ima_hash=
Commit c2426d2ad5 ("ima: added support for new kernel cmdline parameter
ima_template_fmt") introduced an additional check on the ima_template
variable to avoid multiple template selection.

Unfortunately, ima_template could be also set by the setup function of the
ima_hash= parameter, when it calls ima_template_desc_current(). This causes
attempts to choose a new template with ima_template= or with
ima_template_fmt=, after ima_hash=, to be ignored.

Achieve the goal of the commit mentioned with the new static variable
template_setup_done, so that template selection requests after ima_hash=
are not ignored.

Finally, call ima_init_template_list(), if not already done, to initialize
the list of templates before lookup_template_desc() is called.

520451e90c ima: silence measurement list hexdump during kexec
Directly calling print_hex_dump() dumps the IMA measurement list on soft
resets (kexec) straight to the syslog (kmsg/dmesg) without considering the
DEBUG flag or the dynamic debug state, causing the output to be always
printed, including during boot time.

Since this output is only valid for IMA debugging, but not necessary on
normal kexec operation, print_hex_dump_debug() adheres to the pr_debug()
behavior: the dump is only printed to syslog when DEBUG is defined or when
explicitly requested by the user through dynamic debugging.

eb0782bbdf ima: fix deadlock when traversing "ima_default_rules".
The current IMA ruleset is identified by the variable "ima_rules"
that default to "&ima_default_rules". When loading a custom policy
for the first time, the variable is updated to "&ima_policy_rules"
instead. That update isn't RCU-safe, and deadlocks are possible.
Indeed, some functions like ima_match_policy() may loop indefinitely
when traversing "ima_default_rules" with list_for_each_entry_rcu().

When iterating over the default ruleset back to head, if the list
head is "ima_default_rules", and "ima_rules" have been updated to
"&ima_policy_rules", the loop condition (&entry->list != ima_rules)
stays always true, traversing won't terminate, causing a soft lockup
and RCU stalls.

Introduce a temporary value for "ima_rules" when iterating over
the ruleset to avoid the deadlocks.

8ecd39cb61 IMA: prevent SETXATTR_CHECK policy rules with unavailable algorithms
SETXATTR_CHECK policy rules assume that any algorithm listed in the
'appraise_algos' flag must be accepted when performing setxattr() on
the security.ima xattr. However nothing checks that they are
available in the current kernel. A userland application could hash
a file with a digest that the kernel wouldn't be able to verify.
However, if SETXATTR_CHECK is not in use, the kernel already forbids
that xattr write.

Verify that algorithms listed in appraise_algos are available to the
current kernel and reject the policy update otherwise. This will fix
the inconsistency between SETXATTR_CHECK and non-SETXATTR_CHECK
behaviors.

That filtering is only performed in ima_parse_appraise_algos() when
updating policies so that we do not have to pay the price of
allocating a hash object every time validate_hash_algo() is called

While users can restrict the accepted hash algorithms for the

cannot restrict the algorithms that can be set on that attribute:
any algorithm built in the kernel is accepted on a write.

Define a new value for the ima policy option 'func' that restricts
globally the hash algorithms accepted when writing the security.ima

When a policy contains a rule of the form
	appraise func=SETXATTR_CHECK appraise_algos=sha256,sha384,sha512
only values corresponding to one of these three digest algorithms
will be accepted for writing the security.ima xattr. Attempting to
write the attribute using another algorithm (or "free-form" data)
will be denied with an audit log message. In the absence of such a
policy rule, the default is still to only accept hash algorithms

583a80ae86 IMA: add a policy option to restrict xattr hash algorithms on appraisal
The kernel has the ability to restrict the set of hash algorithms it
accepts for the security.ima xattr when it appraises files.

Define a new IMA policy rule option "appraise_algos=", using the
mentioned mechanism to expose a user-toggable policy knob to opt-in
to that restriction and select the desired set of algorithms that
must be accepted.

When a policy rule uses the 'appraise_algos' option, appraisal of a
file referenced by that rule will now fail if the digest algorithm
employed to hash the file was not one of those explicitly listed in
the option. In its absence, any hash algorithm compiled in the
kernel will be accepted.

For example, on a system where SELinux is properly deployed, the rule
	appraise func=BPRM_CHECK obj_type=iptables_exec_t \
		appraise_algos=sha256,sha384
will block the execution of iptables if the xattr security.ima of its

8510505d55 IMA: remove the dependency on CRYPTO_MD5
MD5 is a weak digest algorithm that shouldn't be used for cryptographic
operation. It hinders the efficiency of a patch set that aims to limit
the digests allowed for the extended file attribute namely security.ima.
MD5 is no longer a requirement for IMA, nor should it be used there.

The sole place where we still use the MD5 algorithm inside IMA is setting
the ima_hash algorithm to MD5, if the user supplies 'ima_hash=md5'
parameter on the command line. With commit ab60368ab6 ("ima: Fallback

91ccbbac17 dm ima: measure data on table load
DM configures a block device with various target specific attributes
passed to it as a table. DM loads the table, and calls each target’s
respective constructors with the attributes as input parameters.
Some of these attributes are critical to ensure the device meets
certain security bar. Thus, IMA should measure these attributes, to
ensure they are not tampered with, during the lifetime of the device.
So that the external services can have high confidence in the
configuration of the block-devices on a given system.

Some devices may have large tables. And a given device may change its
state (table-load, suspend, resume, rename, remove, table-clear etc.)
many times. Measuring these attributes each time when the device
changes its state will significantly increase the size of the IMA logs.
Further, once configured, these attributes are not expected to change
unless a new table is loaded, or a device is removed and recreated.
Therefore the clear-text of the attributes should only be measured
during table load, and the hash of the active/inactive table should be
measured for the remaining device state changes.

Export IMA function ima_measure_critical_data() to allow measurement
of DM device parameters, as well as target specific attributes, during
table load. Compute the hash of the inactive table and store it for
measurements during future state change. If a load is called multiple
times, update the inactive table hash with the hash of the latest
populated table. So that the correct inactive table hash is measured
when the device transitions to different states like resume, remove,
rename, etc.

ce5bb5a86e ima: Return int in the functions to measure a buffer
ima_measure_critical_data() and process_buffer_measurement() currently
don't return a result as, unlike appraisal-related functions, the result is
not used by callers to deny an operation. Measurement-related functions
instead rely on the audit subsystem to notify the system administrator when
an error occurs.

However, ima_measure_critical_data() and process_buffer_measurement() are a
special case, as these are the only functions that can return a buffer
measurement (for files, there is ima_file_hash()). In a subsequent patch,
they will be modified to return the calculated digest.

In preparation to return the result of the digest calculation, this patch
modifies the return type from void to int, and returns 0 if the buffer has
been successfully measured, a negative value otherwise.

Given that the result of the measurement is still not necessary, this patch
does not modify the behavior of existing callers by processing the returned
value. For those, the return value is ignored.

5d1ef2ce13 ima: Introduce ima_get_current_hash_algo()
Buffer measurements, unlike file measurements, are not accessible after the
measurement is done, as buffers are not suitable for use with the
integrity_iint_cache structure (there is no index, for files it is the
inode number). In the subsequent patches, the measurement (digest) will be
returned directly by the functions that perform the buffer measurement,
ima_measure_critical_data() and process_buffer_measurement().

A caller of those functions also needs to know the algorithm used to
calculate the digest. Instead of adding the algorithm as a new parameter to
the functions, this patch provides it separately with the new function
ima_get_current_hash_algo().

Since the hash algorithm does not change after the IMA setup phase, there
is no risk of races (obtaining a digest calculated with a different

907a399de7 evm: Check xattr size discrepancy between kernel and user
The kernel and the user obtain an xattr value in two different ways:

kernel (EVM): uses vfs_getxattr_alloc() which obtains the xattr value from
              the filesystem handler (raw value);

user (ima-evm-utils): uses vfs_getxattr() which obtains the xattr value
                      from the LSMs (normalized value).

Normally, this does not have an impact unless security.selinux is set with
setfattr, with a value not terminated by '\0' (this is not the recommended
way, security.selinux should be set with the appropriate tools such as
chcon and restorecon).

In this case, the kernel and the user see two different xattr values: the
former sees the xattr value without '\0' (raw value), the latter sees the
value with '\0' (value normalized by SELinux).

This could result in two different verification outcomes from EVM and
ima-evm-utils, if a signature was calculated with a security.selinux value
terminated by '\0' and the value set in the filesystem is not terminated by
'\0'. The former would report verification failure due to the missing '\0',
while the latter would report verification success (because it gets the
normalized value with '\0').

This patch mitigates this issue by comparing in evm_calc_hmac_or_hash() the
size of the xattr returned by the two xattr functions and by warning the
user if there is a discrepancy.

52c208397c IMA: support for duplicate measurement records
IMA measures contents of a given file/buffer/critical-data record,
and properly re-measures it on change. However, IMA does not measure
the duplicate value for a given record, since TPM extend is a very
expensive operation. For example, if the record changes from value
'v#1' to 'v#2', and then back to 'v#1', IMA will not measure and log
the last change to 'v#1', since the hash of 'v#1' for that record is
already present in the IMA htable. This limits the ability of an
external attestation service to accurately determine the current state
of the system. The service would incorrectly conclude that the latest
value of the given record on the system is 'v#2', and act accordingly.

Define and use a new Kconfig option IMA_DISABLE_HTABLE to permit
duplicate records in the IMA measurement list.

In addition to the duplicate measurement records described above,
other duplicate file measurement records may be included in the log,
when CONFIG_IMA_DISABLE_HTABLE is enabled. For example,
    - i_version is not enabled,
    - i_generation changed,
    - same file present on different filesystems,

6b26285f44 ima/evm: Fix type mismatch
The endianness of a variable written to the measurement list cannot be
determined at compile time, as it depends on the value of the
ima_canonical_fmt global variable (set through a kernel option with the
same name if the machine is big endian).

If ima_canonical_fmt is false, the endianness of a variable is the same as
the machine; if ima_canonical_fmt is true, the endianness is little endian.
The warning arises due to this type of instruction:

var = cpu_to_leXX(var)

which tries to assign a value in little endian to a variable with native
endianness (little or big endian).

Given that the variables set with this instruction are not used in any
operation but just written to a buffer, it is safe to force the type of the
value being set to be the same of the type of the variable with:

var = (__force <var type>)cpu_to_leXX(var)

88016de3ab ima: Define new template evm-sig
With the recent introduction of the evmsig template field, remote verifiers
can obtain the EVM portable signature instead of the IMA signature, to
verify file metadata.

After introducing the new fields to include file metadata in the
measurement list, this patch finally defines the evm-sig template, whose
format is:

d-ng|n-ng|evmsig|xattrnames|xattrlengths|xattrvalues|iuid|igid|imode

xattrnames, xattrlengths and xattrvalues are populated only from defined
EVM protected xattrs, i.e. the ones that EVM considers to verify the
portable signature. xattrnames and xattrlengths are populated only if the
xattr is present.

xattrnames and xattrlengths are not necessary for verifying the EVM
portable signature, but they are included for completeness of information,
if a remote verifier wants to infer more from file metadata.

8c7a703ec9 evm: Verify portable signatures against all protected xattrs
Currently, the evm_config_default_xattrnames array contains xattr names
only related to LSMs which are enabled in the kernel configuration.
However, EVM portable signatures do not depend on local information and a
vendor might include in the signature calculation xattrs that are not
enabled in the target platform.

Just including all xattrs names in evm_config_default_xattrnames is not a
safe approach, because a target system might have already calculated
signatures or HMACs based only on the enabled xattrs. After applying this
patch, EVM would verify those signatures and HMACs with all xattrs instead.
The non-enabled ones, which could possibly exist, would cause a
verification error.

Thus, this patch adds a new field named enabled to the xattr_list
structure, which is set to true if the LSM associated to a given xattr name
is enabled in the kernel configuration. The non-enabled xattrs are taken
into account only in evm_calc_hmac_or_hash(), if the passed security.evm
type is EVM_XATTR_PORTABLE_DIGSIG.

The new function evm_protected_xattr_if_enabled() has been defined so that
IMA can include all protected xattrs and not only the enabled ones in the
measurement list, if the new template fields xattrnames, xattrlengths or
xattrvalues have been included in the template format.

026d7fc92a ima: Introduce template field evmsig and write to field sig as fallback
With the patch to accept EVM portable signatures when the

7aa5783d95 ima: Allow imasig requirement to be satisfied by EVM portable signatures
System administrators can require that all accessed files have a signature
by specifying appraise_type=imasig in a policy rule.

Currently, IMA signatures satisfy this requirement. Appended signatures may
also satisfy this requirement, but are not applicable as IMA signatures.
IMA/appended signatures ensure data source authentication for file content
and prevent any change. EVM signatures instead ensure data source
authentication for file metadata. Given that the digest or signature of the
file content must be included in the metadata, EVM signatures provide the
same file data guarantees of IMA signatures, as well as providing file
metadata guarantees.

This patch lets systems protected with EVM signatures pass appraisal
verification if the appraise_type=imasig requirement is specified in the
policy. This facilitates deployment in the scenarios where only EVM
signatures are available.

The patch makes the following changes:

file xattr types:
security.ima: IMA_XATTR_DIGEST/IMA_XATTR_DIGEST_NG
security.evm: EVM_XATTR_PORTABLE_DIGSIG

execve(), mmap(), open() behavior (with appraise_type=imasig):
before: denied (file without IMA signature, imasig requirement not met)
after: allowed (file with EVM portable signature, imasig requirement met)

open(O_WRONLY) behavior (without appraise_type=imasig):
before: allowed (file without IMA signature, not immutable)
after: denied (file with EVM portable signature, immutable)

In addition, similarly to IMA signatures, this patch temporarily allows
new files without or with incomplete metadata to be opened so that content
can be written.

1886ab01a3 evm: Allow setxattr() and setattr() for unmodified metadata
With the patch to allow xattr/attr operations if a portable signature
verification fails, cp and tar can copy all xattrs/attrs so that at the
end of the process verification succeeds.

However, it might happen that the xattrs/attrs are already set to the
correct value (taken at signing time) and signature verification succeeds
before the copy has completed. For example, an archive might contains files
owned by root and the archive is extracted by root.

Then, since portable signatures are immutable, all subsequent operations
fail (e.g. fchown()), even if the operation is legitimate (does not alter
the current value).

This patch avoids this problem by reporting successful operation to user
space when that operation does not alter the current value of xattrs/attrs.

With this patch, the one that introduces evm_hmac_disabled() and the one
that allows a metadata operation on the INTEGRITY_FAIL_IMMUTABLE error, EVM
portable signatures can be used without disabling metadata verification
(by setting EVM_ALLOW_METADATA_WRITES). Due to keeping metadata
verification enabled, altering immutable metadata protected with a portable
signature that was successfully verified will be denied (existing
behavior).

cdef685be5 evm: Allow xattr/attr operations for portable signatures
If files with portable signatures are copied from one location to another
or are extracted from an archive, verification can temporarily fail until
all xattrs/attrs are set in the destination. Only portable signatures may
be moved or copied from one file to another, as they don't depend on
system-specific information such as the inode generation. Instead portable
signatures must include security.ima.

Unlike other security.evm types, EVM portable signatures are also
immutable. Thus, it wouldn't be a problem to allow xattr/attr operations
when verification fails, as portable signatures will never be replaced with
the HMAC on possibly corrupted xattrs/attrs.

This patch first introduces a new integrity status called
INTEGRITY_FAIL_IMMUTABLE, that allows callers of
evm_verify_current_integrity() to detect that a portable signature didn't
pass verification and then adds an exception in evm_protect_xattr() and
evm_inode_setattr() for this status and returns 0 instead of -EPERM.

4a804b8a45 evm: Introduce evm_hmac_disabled() to safely ignore verification errors
When a file is being created, LSMs can set the initial label with the
inode_init_security hook. If no HMAC key is loaded, the new file will have
LSM xattrs but not the HMAC. It is also possible that the file remains
without protected xattrs after creation if no active LSM provided it, or
because the filesystem does not support them.

Unfortunately, EVM will deny any further metadata operation on new files,
as evm_protect_xattr() will return the INTEGRITY_NOLABEL error if protected
xattrs exist without security.evm, INTEGRITY_NOXATTRS if no protected
xattrs exist or INTEGRITY_UNKNOWN if xattrs are not supported. This would
limit the usability of EVM when only a public key is loaded, as commands
such as cp or tar with the option to preserve xattrs won't work.

This patch introduces the evm_hmac_disabled() function to determine whether
or not it is safe to ignore verification errors, based on the ability of
EVM to calculate HMACs. If the HMAC key is not loaded, and it cannot be
loaded in the future due to the EVM_SETUP_COMPLETE initialization flag,
allowing an operation despite the attrs/xattrs being found invalid will not
make them valid.

Since the post hooks can be executed even when the HMAC key is not loaded,
this patch also ensures that the EVM_INIT_HMAC initialization flag is set
before the post hooks call evm_update_evmxattr().

e3ccfe1ad7 evm: Introduce evm_revalidate_status()
When EVM_ALLOW_METADATA_WRITES is set, EVM allows any operation on
metadata. Its main purpose is to allow users to freely set metadata when it
is protected by a portable signature, until an HMAC key is loaded.

However, callers of evm_verifyxattr() are not notified about metadata
changes and continue to rely on the last status returned by the function.
For example IMA, since it caches the appraisal result, will not call again
evm_verifyxattr() until the appraisal flags are cleared, and will grant
access to the file even if there was a metadata operation that made the
portable signature invalid.

This patch introduces evm_revalidate_status(), which callers of
evm_verifyxattr() can use in their xattr hooks to determine whether
re-validation is necessary and to do the proper actions. IMA calls it in
its xattr hooks to reset the appraisal flags, so that the EVM status is
re-evaluated after a metadata operation.

Lastly, this patch also adds a call to evm_reset_status() in
evm_inode_post_setattr() to invalidate the cached EVM status after a
setattr operation.
