The current interface for exclusive opens is rather confusing as it requires both the FMODE_EXCL flag and a holder. Remove the need to pass FMODE_EXCL and just key off the exclusive open off a non-NULL holder. For blkdev_put this requires adding the holder argument, which provides better debug checking that only the holder actually releases the hold, but at the same time allows removing the now superfluous mode argument. Linux kernel ============ There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at: https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/ There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
