544177f20b hwmon: (pmbus) add documentation for existing flags
PMBUS_NO_WRITE_PROTECT and PMBUS_USE_COEFFICIENTS_CMD flags have been added
to pmbus, but the corresponding documentation was not updated.

0196d07f0e dt-bindings: Add SY24655 to ina2xx devicetree bindings
SY24655 is similar to INA226. Its supply voltage and pin definitions
are therefore the same. Compared to INA226, SY24655 has two additional
registers for configuring and calculating average power.

46b94c485e hwmon: Add driver for I2C chip Nuvoton NCT7363Y
The NCT7363Y is a fan controller which provides up to 16
independent FAN input monitors. It can report each FAN input count
values. The NCT7363Y also provides up to 16 independent PWM
outputs. Each PWM can output specific PWM signal by manual mode to
control the FAN duty outside.

0eed6fc3d2 hwmon: (sht4x): add heater support
Add support for manipulating the internal heater of sht4x devices.
Enabling the heater removes condensed water from the sensor surface
which disturbs the relative humidity measurements.

The heater can operate at three heating levels (20, 110 or 200
milliwatts). Also, two heating durations may be selected (0.1 or 1s).
Once the heating time elapses the heater is automatically switched off.

70fb84a109 hwmon: (ina2xx) Add support for INA260
INA260 is similar to other chips of the series, except it has an internal
shunt resistor. The calibration register is therefore not present. Also,
the current register address was changed, though that does not matter for
the driver since the shunt voltage register (which is now the current
register) value is already used to read the current.

652e1a5146 mm: fix docs for the kernel parameter `thp_anon=`
If we add ``thp_anon=32,64K:always`` to the kernel command line, we
will see the following error:

[    0.000000] huge_memory: thp_anon=32,64K:always: error parsing string, ignoring setting

This happens because the correct format isn't ``thp_anon=<size>,<size>[KMG]:<state>```,
as [KMG] must follow each number to especify its unit. So, the correct
format is ``thp_anon=<size>[KMG],<size>[KMG]:<state>```.

Therefore, adjust the documentation to reflect the correct format of the
parameter ``thp_anon=``.

b7cfc04548 Documentation: s390-diag.rst: Make diag500 a generic KVM hypercall
Let's make it a generic KVM hypercall, allowing other subfunctions to
be more independent of virtio.

While at it, document that unsupported/unimplemented subfunctions result
in a SPECIFICATION exception.

This is a preparation for documenting a new subfunction.

cfbbd48598 mptcp: no admin perm to list endpoints
During the switch to YNL, the command to list all endpoints has been
accidentally restricted to users with admin permissions.

It looks like there are no reasons to have this restriction which makes
it harder for a user to quickly check if the endpoint list has been
correctly populated by an automated tool. Best to go back to the
previous behaviour then.

mptcp_pm_gen.c has been modified using ynl-gen-c.py:

   $ ./tools/net/ynl/ynl-gen-c.py --mode kernel \
     --spec Documentation/netlink/specs/mptcp_pm.yaml --source \
     -o net/mptcp/mptcp_pm_gen.c

The header file doesn't need to be regenerated.

This is a false positive data race between a seqcount latch writer and a reader
accessing stale data. Since its introduction, KCSAN has never understood the
seqcount_latch interface (due to being unannotated).

Unlike the regular seqlock interface, the seqcount_latch interface for latch
writers never has had a well-defined critical section, making it difficult to
teach tooling where the critical section starts and ends.

Introduce an instrumentable (non-raw) seqcount_latch interface, with
which we can clearly denote writer critical sections. This both helps
readability and tooling like KCSAN to understand when the writer is done
updating all latch copies.

Support direct I/O atomic writes by producing a single bio with REQ_ATOMIC
flag set.

Initially FSes (XFS) should only support writing a single FS block
atomically.

As with any atomic write, we should produce a single bio which covers the

1caeda5ef2 arm64/gcs: Fix outdated ptrace documentation
The ptrace documentation for GCS was written prior to the implementation of
clone3() when we still blocked enabling of GCS via ptrace. This restriction
was relaxed as part of implementing clone3() support since we implemented
support for the GCS not being managed by the kernel but the documentation
still mentions the restriction. Update the documentation to reflect what
was merged.

We have not yet merged clone3() itself but all the support other than in
clone() itself is there.

e1dce56443 perf/marvell: Marvell PEM performance monitor support
PCI Express Interface PMU includes various performance counters
to monitor the data that is transmitted over the PCIe link. The
counters track various inbound and outbound transactions which
includes separate counters for posted/non-posted/completion TLPs.
Also, inbound and outbound memory read requests along with their
latencies can also be monitored. Address Translation Services(ATS)events
such as ATS Translation, ATS Page Request, ATS Invalidation along with
their corresponding latencies are also supported.

The performance counters are 64 bits wide.

For instance,
perf stat -e ib_tlp_pr <workload>
tracks the inbound posted TLPs for the workload.

fs/writeback: convert wbc_account_cgroup_owner to take a folio
Most of the callers of wbc_account_cgroup_owner() are converting a folio
to page before calling the function. wbc_account_cgroup_owner() is
converting the page back to a folio to call mem_cgroup_css_from_folio().

Convert wbc_account_cgroup_owner() to take a folio instead of a page,
and convert all callers to pass a folio directly except f2fs.

Convert the page to folio for all the callers from f2fs as they were the
only callers calling wbc_account_cgroup_owner() with a page. As f2fs is
already in the process of converting to folios, these call sites might
also soon be calling wbc_account_cgroup_owner() with a folio directly in
the future.

No functional changes. Only compile tested.

RISC-V: disallow gcc + rust builds
During the discussion before supporting rust on riscv, it was decided
not to support gcc yet, due to differences in extension handling
compared to llvm (only the version of libclang matching the c compiler
is supported). Recently Jason Montleon reported [1] that building with
gcc caused build issues, due to unsupported arguments being passed to
libclang. After some discussion between myself and Miguel, it is better
to disable gcc + rust builds to match the original intent, and
subsequently support it when an appropriate set of extensions can be
deduced from the version of libclang.

register layout has a little bit difference, so add new compatible string

af6ab107ce dt-bindings: display: mediatek: dpi: correct power-domains property
The MediaTek DPI module is typically associated with one of the
following multimedia power domains:
 - POWER_DOMAIN_DISPLAY
 - POWER_DOMAIN_VDOSYS
 - POWER_DOMAIN_MM
The specific power domain used varies depending on the SoC design.

These power domains are shared by multiple devices within the SoC.
In most cases, these power domains are enabled by other devices.
As a result, the DPI module of legacy SoCs often functions correctly
even without explicit configuration.

It is recommended to explicitly add the appropriate power domain
property to the DPI node in the device tree. Hence drop the
compatible checking for specific SoCs.

110234da18 block: enable passthrough command statistics
Applications using the passthrough interfaces for IO want to continue
seeing the disk stats. These requests had been fenced off from this
block layer feature. While the block layer doesn't necessarily know what
a passthrough command does, we do know the data size and direction,
which is enough to account for the command's stats.

Since tracking these has the potential to produce unexpected results,
the passthrough stats are locked behind a new queue flag that needs to
be enabled with the /sys/block/<dev>/queue/iostats_passthrough
attribute.

f7a4b3438c dt-bindings: mmc: Document support for partition table in mmc-card
Document support for defining a partition table in the mmc-card node.

This is needed if the eMMC doesn't have a partition table written and
the bootloader of the device load data by using absolute offset of the
block device. This is common on embedded device that have eMMC installed
to save space and have non removable block devices.

If an OF partition table is detected, any partition table written in the
eMMC will be ignored and won't be parsed.

eMMC provide a generic disk for user data and if supported (JEDEC 4.4+)
also provide two additional disk ("boot1" and "boot2") for special usage
of boot operation where normally is stored the bootloader or boot info.
New JEDEC version also supports up to 4 GP partition for other usage
called "gp1", "gp2", "gp3", "gp4".

vfs: Add a sysctl for automated deletion of dentry
Commit 681ce86235 ("vfs: Delete the associated dentry when deleting a
file") introduced an unconditional deletion of the associated dentry when a
file is removed. However, this led to performance regressions in specific
benchmarks, such as ilebench.sum_operations/s [0], prompting a revert in
commit 4a4be1ad3a ("Revert "vfs: Delete the associated dentry when
deleting a file"").

This patch seeks to reintroduce the concept conditionally, where the
associated dentry is deleted only when the user explicitly opts for it
during file removal. A new sysctl fs.automated_deletion_of_dentry is
added for this purpose. Its default value is set to 0.

There are practical use cases for this proactive dentry reclamation.
Besides the Elasticsearch use case mentioned in commit 681ce86235,
additional examples have surfaced in our production environment. For
instance, in video rendering services that continuously generate temporary
files, upload them to persistent storage servers, and then delete them, a
large number of negative dentries—serving no useful purpose—accumulate.
Users in such cases would benefit from proactively reclaiming these
negative dentries.

The PCIe 6a PHY is actually Gen4 4-lanes capable. So the gen4x4 compatible
describes it. But according to the schema, currently the gen4x4 compatible
doesn't require both PHY and PHY-nocsr resets, while the HW does. So fix
that by adding the gen4x4 compatible alongside the gen4x2 one for the
resets description.

5a27984244 KVM: x86: Clean up documentation for KVM_X86_QUIRK_SLOT_ZAP_ALL
Massage the documentation for KVM_X86_QUIRK_SLOT_ZAP_ALL to call out that
it applies to moved memslots as well as deleted memslots, to avoid KVM's
"fast zap" terminology (which has no meaning for userspace), and to reword
the documented targeted zap behavior to specifically say that KVM _may_
zap a subset of all SPTEs.  As evidenced by the fix to zap non-leafs SPTEs
with gPTEs, formally documenting KVM's exact internal behavior is risky
and unnecessary.

02e2f9aa33 ipe: allow secondary and platform keyrings to install/update policies
The current policy management makes it impossible to use IPE
in a general purpose distribution. In such cases the users are not
building the kernel, the distribution is, and access to the private
key included in the trusted keyring is, for obvious reason, not
available.
This means that users have no way to enable IPE, since there will
be no built-in generic policy, and no access to the key to sign
updates validated by the trusted keyring.

Just as we do for dm-verity, kernel modules and more, allow the
secondary and platform keyrings to also validate policies. This
allows users enrolling their own keys in UEFI db or MOK to also
sign policies, and enroll them. This makes it sensible to enable
IPE in general purpose distributions, as it becomes usable by
any user wishing to do so. Keys in these keyrings can already
load kernels and kernel modules, so there is no security
downgrade.

Add a kconfig each, like dm-verity does, but default to enabled if
the dependencies are available.

5ceecb301e ipe: also reject policy updates with the same version
Currently IPE accepts an update that has the same version as the policy
being updated, but it doesn't make it a no-op nor it checks that the
old and new policyes are the same. So it is possible to change the
content of a policy, without changing its version. This is very
confusing from userspace when managing policies.
Instead change the update logic to reject updates that have the same
version with ESTALE, as that is much clearer and intuitive behaviour.

b616058c66 arm64: mops: Document booting requirement for HCR_EL2.MCE2
Document that hypervisors must set HCR_EL2.MCE2 and handle MOPS
exceptions when they migrate a vCPU to another type of CPU, as Linux may
not be able to handle the exception at all times.

As one example, when running under nested virtualization, KVM does not
handle MOPS exceptions from the nVHE/hVHE EL2 hyp as the hyp is never
migrated, so the host hypervisor needs to handle them. There may be
other situations (now or in the future) where the kernel can't handle an
unexpected MOPS exception, so require that the hypervisor handles them.

Following the change, URLs on documents are also updated[2].  However,

1f455f601e timers/Documentation: Cleanup delay/sleep documentation
The documentation which tries to give advices how to properly inserting
delays or sleeps is outdated. The file name is 'timers-howto.rst' which
might be misleading as it is only about delay and sleep mechanisms and not
how to use timers.

Update the documentation by integrating the important parts from the
related function descriptions and move it all into a self explaining file
with the name "delay_sleep_functions.rst".

Add DT bindings for the Renesas RZ/V2H(P) Interrupt Controller.

Also add macros for the NMI and IRQ0-15 interrupts which map the
SPI0-16 interrupts on the RZ/V2H(P) SoC so that they can be
used in the first cell of the interrupt specifiers.

For the second cell of the interrupt specifier, since NMI, IRQn
and TINTn support different types of interrupts between themselves,
add helper macros to make it easier for the user to work out what's
available.

Provide a "nosnp" kernel command line option to prevent enabling of the RMP
and SEV-SNP features in the host/hypervisor. Not initializing the RMP

caf0ea451d iomap: remove iomap_file_buffered_write_punch_delalloc
Currently iomap_file_buffered_write_punch_delalloc can be called from
XFS either with the invalidate lock held or not.  To fix this while
keeping the locking in the file system and not the iomap library
code we'll need to life the locking up into the file system.

To prepare for that, open code iomap_file_buffered_write_punch_delalloc
in the only caller, and instead export iomap_write_delalloc_release.
