Linux-2.6.12-rc2 Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!

Since the VIC registeration is done early, we need to record the VICs in a static array which is used to add the system devices later once the initcalls are run. [ARM] 5295/1: make ZONE_DMA optional Most ARM machines don't need a special "DMA" memory zone, and when configured out, the kernel becomes a bit smaller: | text data bss dec hex filename |3826182 102384 111700 4040266 3da64a vmlinux |3823593 101616 111700 4036909 3d992d vmlinux.nodmazone This is because the system now has only one zone total which effect is to optimize away many conditionals in page allocation paths.
