aa57abe6a7 megaraid_sas: don't set QUEUE_FLAG_NOMERGES
Setting QUEUE_FLAG_NOMERGES was added in commit 15dd03811d99dcf
("scsi: megaraid_sas: NVME Interface detection and prop settings")
without any explanation.  Drivers should second guess the block
layer merge decisions, so remove the flag.

I will probably defer the (more complicated) ULD changes to the next
merge window as they would heavily conflict with Damien's zone write
plugging series.  With that the series could go in through the SCSI
tree if Jens' ACKs the core block layer bits.

2d83fb023c scsi: megaraid_sas: Log message when controller reset is requested but not issued
The driver now includes the print message 'IO is completed, no reset is
required' when a reset is requested but not issued. This message is
displayed only when pending SCSI IO is completed before issuing the reset.

8e3ed9e786 scsi: megaraid_sas: Increase register read retry rount from 3 to 30 for selected registers
In BMC environments with concurrent access to multiple registers, certain
registers occasionally yield a value of 0 even after 3 retries due to
hardware errata. As a fix, we have extended the retry count from 3 to 30.

The same errata applies to the mpt3sas driver, and a similar patch has
been accepted. Please find more details in the mpt3sas patch reference

The lock is used to synchronize different sysfs operations, it doesn't
protect any resource that will be touched by an interrupt. Consequently
it's not required to disable IRQs. Replace the spinlock with a mutex to fix
the deadlock.

d67790ddf0 overflow: Add struct_size_t() helper
While struct_size() is normally used in situations where the structure
type already has a pointer instance, there are places where no variable
is available. In the past, this has been worked around by using a typed
NULL first argument, but this is a bit ugly. Add a helper to do this,
and replace the handful of instances of the code pattern with it.

Instances were found with this Coccinelle script:

aa67380056 scsi: megaraid_sas: Convert union megasas_sgl to flex-arrays
In the ongoing effort to replace all fake flexible arrays with true
flexible arrays, replace the sge32, sge64, and sge_skinny members of union
megasas_sgl with true flexible arrays. No binary differences are seen after
this change; sizes were already being manually calculated using the member
struct sizes directly.

9bcb1d5a3d scsi: megaraid_sas: Add crash dump mode capability bit in MFI capabilities
In kdump kernel mode, the driver works in reduced functionality mode with
some features disabled such as reduced MSI-X count and RDPQ disabled, etc.
However, the firmware is not aware of this mode in some cases, which
results in undefined behavior.

To address this, the driver informs the firmware about the kdump mode
through MPI capabilities bit during driver initialization.  This allows
firmware to adjust its behavior accordingly.

bfa659177d scsi: megaraid_sas: Update max supported LD IDs to 240
The firmware only supports Logical Disk IDs up to 240 and LD ID 255 (0xFF)
is reserved for deleted LDs. However, in some cases, firmware was assigning
LD ID 254 (0xFE) to deleted LDs and this was causing the driver to mark the
wrong disk as deleted. This in turn caused the wrong disk device to be
taken offline by the SCSI midlayer.

To address this issue, limit the LD ID range from 255 to 240. This ensures
the deleted LD ID is properly identified and removed by the driver without
accidently deleting any valid LDs.

a9a3629592 scsi: megaraid_sas: Add flexible array member for SGLs
struct MPI2_RAID_SCSI_IO_REQUEST ends with a single SGL, but expects to
copy multiple. Add a flexible array member so the compiler can reason about
the size of the memcpy(). This will avoid the run-time false positive
warning:

  memcpy: detected field-spanning write (size 128) of single field "&r1_cmd->io_request->SGL" at drivers/scsi/megaraid/megaraid_sas_fusion.c:3326 (size 16)

This change results in no binary output differences.

made it impossible for .eh_timed_out() implementations to call
scsi_done() without causing a crash.

Restore support for SCSI timeout handlers to call scsi_done() as follows:

 * Change all .eh_timed_out() handlers as follows:

   - Change the return type into enum scsi_timeout_action.
   - Change BLK_EH_RESET_TIMER into SCSI_EH_RESET_TIMER.
   - Change BLK_EH_DONE into SCSI_EH_NOT_HANDLED.

 * In scsi_timeout(), convert the SCSI_EH_* values into BLK_EH_* values.

on memcpy() and help us make progress towards globally enabling
